I've been writing articles for people and I do have quite a few repeat clients and a good bit of business but I've been trying to figure out what I can do when I don't have outstanding orders. I have my website that I am working on but currently I have guest writers posting up their stuff and I want to give them the spotlight. I was thinking of writing and selling PLR stuff on popular niches. I have a good idea of what are some really popular niches but I'm not too sure about how to get into selling the articles. I have a few questions I could use some help with.

  • Should I make a separate website for my PLR where I offer my different packages or add a tab onto my main writing website?
  • How big should the average PLR package be?
  • What are the average prices for quality PLR packages?
  • What are good ways to advertise this service? I know I could make another Warriors for Hire thread or add it into my current one but I'm wondering what other ideas people have to market this kind of service.
Any additional tips for someone looking into selling PLR would be appreciated.

You can package 10 or 15 or 20 fresh unique articles in the weight loss niche and im niche and sell them as a wso here in this forum.

Check some of the other plr wsos here and get some ideas of prices.

You can limit it to xx number of copies.

Should I make a separate website for my PLR where I offer my different packages or add a tab onto my main writing website?

I would recommend a separate website. You could still link them together, but if you are going to be offering several packages, it's easier in my opinion to have a site dedicated to PLR.

How big should the average PLR package be?

They can really be as big as you want to make them. I currently offer articles packs with 5 or 10 articles. Others, such as Tiffany Dow, offers mega packs that have a report and several articles in them. I really depends on how you want to package your PLR and how much you can write about a topic.

What are the average prices for quality PLR packages?

I personally price my PLR for $1 per page. You want to price it low enough so people will be interested, especially since others will have access to purchasing the same content.

What are good ways to advertise this service? I know I could make another Warriors for Hire thread or add it into my current one but I'm wondering what other ideas people have to market this kind of service.

Add a link in your signature to your store once you have it up and running.
Offer a free PLR pack as a WSO here.
Get an autoresponder such as Aweber and have people sign up to get the free pack. Also, have your buyers sign up. Then you can notify these people each time you release a new PLR pack.

Take a look at Tiffany Dow's PLR ATM or Peggy Baron's How to Become a PLR Writer (available here as a WSO). Both of these women really know their stuff when it comes to selling PLR content. I have both of these guides and they have given me the knowledge to set up and market my own PLR site.

I was just looking at Peggy Baron's package. It looks like it could be just what I need to get started. A lot of great information and great reviews. Seems like it could be very worth the money. It is always hard for me to actually buy WSOs, I never have before, because I'm kind of stingy with my money... but this is the first one I've really felt a pull to buy.

Looking at that second suggestion as well... I am fairly sure I can only afford one right now. Which would you suggest purchasing if I can only get one?

        Hi Amanda,

It seems to me, the answer to your question is in your post. You have mentioned two aspects:

#1 Peg's offer is suitable for such beginner (at least in this field) as you

#2 You can afford only one at this moment

So, if I'd you, I'd go for 'Become a PLR Writer'.

Anyway, I know these products and only can say, both of them are great in its kind.

        Many successes,

        Sandor

Tiffany's course is a bit more in-depth, but either of them can get you up and running. Another PLR seller, Ruth, has reviewed both and compared them to each other. Read this post here to help you decide:

You already got some great answers, but I thought I would add mine too

          1) You can try a separate tab at first. This is what I did but I didn't really make many sales. As long as you know you're going to have a few different packs then it is worth setting up a site.

          2) You will probably want to start with small 5-10 article packs at first while you get a feel for what kind of packs sell well, and to help build up your stock of PLR quicker.

          3) $1 an article is definitely average around here for quality PLR. Less when it comes to doing a WSO which has to be a special offer, lower price on the forum than anywhere else.

          4) I started right here on the Warrior Forum and got around 100+ subscribers from my first ever freebie WSO (can't remember how many exactly but they went on to become my first buyers ) I also use SEO on my PLR site and constantly try to think of ways to build my list. HINT: build a list right away

          Some other tips about PLR...

It is not an instant riches system, but I feel it's a very sensible way to constantly grow a business that'll make money for a long time. When you only have a few packs on your site, even the interested buyers might not buy as you might not happen to have any topics they want. That's why I recommended smaller packs to start with so you can build up your stock.

That said, if you have an area of expertise then you can put in a lot of focus on building a targeted list of customers interested in that niche. I have seen that work extremely well with others so it's worth a thought.

Lastly, I would recommend you do a lot of research into the competition to make sure you're doing something different. No doubt competition has increased around here in the last few months, but there's room for a lot of PLR if we all have different styles/ topics/ ways of doing things. Incidentally Peggy's eBook has a fantastic section about this!

If you are a complete beginner I would recommend Tiff's, which gives videos on how to set up a blog etc, but it seems like you're not because you already have a website. In which case either will serve you very well. They both do PLR very well, but in different ways. You will be in very safe hands with Peggy! I personally know she is very good and responding to emails too (as is Tiffany) which is very useful!

Tiffany's PLRATM course is a very good learning tool and she is very helpful with questions. You could also get some ebooks or reports from her plrminimart to use in your plr store.

This use of her PLR - and most other PLR sellers unless they specify resell rights - would be against her terms, so definitely don't do that.

I just purchased Tiffany Dow's PLR ATM and found it to be incredibly helpful. Her videos are very detailed on setting up Wordpress and have everything to get you started. You might also want to consider signing up as an affiliate for Tiffany and Peggy Baron as you start to build up your own inventory. However, be careful about the choice between Mailchimp and Aweber. While Mailchimp is initially free, my understanding is that according to their TOS, they do not accept websites promoting affiliate products. So it makes sense to start with Aweber from the gitgo.

Definitely need to be building a list. I have a little tiny one (that I am finally about to grow a bit more) that is highly responsive.

Aweber works well with a lot of different programs to make building a buyers list easier. I use GetResponse simply because it was free up to 100 members. They are more lenient in allowing affiliate promotions, and it removed the roadblock to getting started.

I work in a bunch of niches, but I have found myself specializing in the World of Warcraft area.

As far as the product to learn how to set things up, both are great. Both of those women are top of the line and perfect to learn from. It is worth mentioning that Peggy also has a newsletter that gives some great information that might help you out.

I would try and keep some uniquness to your work and charge that little extra. Unless you are going to source really good plr articles. Unfortunatly though most is just rehashed junk.

I used to buy a lot of PLR, but too much of it ends up unused on my hard drive.

For me, the most important thing is quality, more important than price.
