Flash Banner in WordPress.org sidebar/best plug in?

Oh god - i'm still in the newbie bracket with a question like this...sorry

Any pointers where to go to get a flash banner into a wordpress blog would be welcomed.

    If you are in WP go to Appearance - Widget -choose Text and paste in the codes - you may have to adjust the width if you have a narrow widget column

      Thank you - but i tried this first, and it didn't work. Just the text appeared. The banner files I downloaded though, just look like this:

      LBD 175px x 175px 2.swf

        Hmm, try uploading the 2.swf file to the root directory of your site via FTP and use this code in the text widget...

        HTML Code:
        <object width="175" height="175">
<param name="movie" value="http://www.yoursite.com/2.swf">
<embed src="http://www.yoursite.com/2.swf" width="175" height="175">
</embed>
</object>
        Obviously change the yoursite.com to your domain.

    When you insert a banner you can give a group (key) code. In this way you can "group" a block of banners. For examples if your theme is a 3 columns, you can put in left sidebar:
    <?php if(function_exists( 'wp_bannerize' ))
    wp_bannerize('group=left_sidebar'); ?> and put in right sidebar:
    <?php if(function_exists( 'wp_bannerize' ))
    wp_bannerize('group=right_sidebar'); ?> However WP Bannerize provides a filter by category, for example:
    <?php if(function_exists( 'wp_bannerize' ))
    wp_bannerize('group=right_sidebar&categories=13,14 '); ?>
