The "Help I Need Money Now Syndrome" Here is What You Need To Do

I been going nuts online and in several online niches now for many years. They make me good money, and I never have to work another boring 9-5 job again.

But see it wasnt always like this. When I first started online, i found it hard. I was looking where to go and what to do to make money tomorrow. I see these questions raised on warrior forum and several years ago someone helped me out and now I want to give back.

Heck you are reading this and thinking 'great stuff celente but I have no money' and I hear ya, cause several years ago i was in the same boat.

So realistically what can you do if you are in this BOAT??

SIMPLE!

OFFER YOURSELF AS A FREELANCER!

That is what I did at the start. I made enough money to make my own site up and build a list and really get cracking. I had to start at ground zero. And work my way up.

The best thing if you do not know how to do certain jobs is search teh warrior forum. I swear there is so much hidden treasure on here its not funny. People are willing to help you out for free and some of the information here is priceless.

Once you are up to speed on a topic, then offer your services.

Where do you promote your services but?

Good question.

Nowadays you can use places like odesk and fiverr.

When I started I use to rewrite articles for people. But The smart thing is I kept all my clients in a list. Whenever I needed more money just sent out and email to them with a discount. VIOLA... instant profits for me!!!! YEY!

When I had a list of about 180+ clients i rewrote for, I had to hire a helper to keep up with the work. Now that was fun!!! And that is how things really took off for me.

I believe the real secret is in working hard, and delivering a good service for people so you get the whole powerful repeat business thing going.

If you do not want to write or feel like you are not good at this, you should try something else. Maybe you can build websites, or good at personalized data entry, or maybe you are good at creating camtasia videos. See we are all good at something. You can offer your services on guru.com or elance for people looking.

Also do not let anything stand in your road. Too many times I tell people how to do this, and you can see their eyeballs roll into their head. They start talking about failing, or the client not liking them, or getting angry the work is not up to speed.

The thing is if you have ever done anything online or offline someone else will need this service done for them.

When i sat down and planned this all out, and kept a list of my previous clients. (yes lists are that powerful) i was able to make about 1k my first month and then double that the next month.

My goal was to save up enough for a domain, hosting, autoresponer and start my own business in my niche that I have a passion for. The rest is history.

This is just a little guide for those with no direction and not knowing what to do or where to start. Hopefully this will give you some sort of direction.

Get off your butt and start working your ass off. You are the master of your own domain, and luck will not find you. The harder you work, the luckier you become. I have always liked that saying and it is so true.

To your online profits.

Celente.

That's exactly what happened to me now :p

So here I am, try hard to learn about IM despite my current financial situation and life's struggle.

Because I'm sure someday I will have big smile when remembering my hard times, or even laugh at my pessimist attitude when all in my mind is just "money"

    Thanks for your sharing, Celente

Same here, with one important extension.

Learn as much as you can about each client's business.

You're not just freelancing for immediate cash, but for the education.

Your clients are turning the work you give them into cash.

If it didn't turn into MORE CASH THAN THEY ARE PAYING YOU, they wouldn't be paying you.

Do you suppose it would help your business if you knew how to turn your own freelance work into more cash than your clients are paying you?

    Hell yes it would.

  • Excellent post Celente with some really good advice.

The only thing I would add is make a plan and stick to it. The biggest hurdle when you first start is avoiding the temptation to jump around from one thing to another hoping that you will magically find the 'next big thing'.

There are no silver bullets... you summed it up perfectly when you said "Get off your butt and start working your ass off."

That was very informative, I have been doing freelance work for a few years now but there is so much competition on freelance sites, someone will always outbid you with some ridiculous bid offer and it makes you think that why should I lower my price with my skills and knowledge and try to compete with these people killing the market price of a job offer, there are many people on freelance sites who will do all sorts of work for next to nothing, I get so angry sometimes that all the hard work, effort, time and money I spent learning and perfecting my skills is not usable at times because someone else is willing to do it for peanuts and the clients most of the time chooses the one who will do it cheaper, I am not trying to put anyone off for getting into freelancing at all, I have landed some good jobs in the past so I know it works but you must be ready to giveaway your skills for very little money as the competition is big as a fact.

That's exactly what I'm fearful of. The starting point is so jammed up and even if I can offer my services here of WF, there is a fee to post a thread under Warriors For Hire which I would be glad to do if I even had the $20 or so from other avenues online.

Thinking of something that may help...

two things i think could help; Try and find a few people who could use your service. Offer it to them for free in exchange for some reviews of your service. See if there is anything you can add to the service to make is stand out a bit.

If your clients have lists, see if after doing the job for free they could recommend your work to their list. Have your own website setup so they can order direct from you and not go through a site like odesk where they will be tempted to try and look at your competition.

Word of mouth is very powerful, there are loads of people who offer writing and backlinking services, but if I see someone has really good reviews and rep I will pay a bit more and go with them instead of going for the cheaper guys.

It maybe a bit harder to pull this offer via a freelance site, but still if there is anything you can add to the service to get those extra stars, do it.

You only really need to do this to build up your rep, once word gets around people will come to you regardless the price... thats what I think anyway.

Sound advice. Too many people are in a hurry with this IM game, just stick to what you know and are good at initially, learn as you go, but have a strategy - longer term plan and take action, be focused and consistent too. IM riches don't happen over night.

There is no reason to rush is there.

Taking action, and setting goals all while making sure one is focused is how you can win at this game for sure.

Wow this is great. I just had a similar idea when I started my offline website creation service a couple hours ago.

              This is great celente.

I totally agree, freelancing is a great way to dig into the work at home lifestyle, whilst giving yourself the flexibility to grow your own business on the side.

And what most people don't realize about freelancing is the CONTACTS you make in this business... contacts that could end up being your JV partners when you get your own product finished.

That's how I got started, and today, I'm covering all my bases with freelance work and marketing projects of my own... making way more than I ever did in corporate 9-5 slavedom.

I'm also wired into a good network of people to support me, which truly is a major secret to success online.

This is great information. Some times when you're starting out it seems you will never have the technical skills needed to do the IM work. But we all have other skills that can be used to make the money we need while we learn the technical skills.

My technicals are lacking big time and it seems that I will not ever learn any of this stuff but I do have other skills that I can be using right now to stop that always looking for money to pay the bills syndrome.

      Thanks for the push.

Oh, I forgot to give that advice.

Don't pay any attention to what JUST ONE CLIENT is doing.

The stuff that works is the stuff LOTS of your clients are doing.

And if they want you to sign an NDA, that's fine. Because that one client doesn't matter. Even if all your clients make you sign one, the fact that it's a pattern makes it an "industry standard" - which isn't covered by an NDA.

I personally find it rather charming when a business owner still thinks his ideas are brilliant proprietary trade secrets. Awww... aren't they cute at that age.

Either that or CashCrate. Personally I have never gone to the point where I would offer myself as a Freelancer or use CashCrate, but I know others that have that end up eventually dumping IM.

So this might not be the best way to go IMHO.
