It often suprises me when I read comments like this why the entire world hasn't got at least one Harry Potter novel/ National newspaper, to their name.

In fairness to the OP though, he/she can at least write a grammatically correct thread on the forum, from his/her cell phone.

If you want to use article marketing, I'd seriously suggest you look up the Warrior Bill Platt (TPW) and take a look in his signature, where you'll find a free 100 odd page book on how he has,very successfully, done article marketing, since men and women lived in caves.

You could try setting up a facebook/twitter/myspace page. Or if you have an affiliate splash/capture page, you could sign up with some free traffic networks like trafficadbar(i personally like them alot), list bonus(they allow you to send out emails up to 1000 emails a week as well as post your capture page), trafficswarm, or hundreds of others. You do have to do a little bit of ad surfing with them, but it really does get you plenty of traffic. i believe trafficadbar still gives 100,000 credits just for signing up so it definetely helps with the "credit amount" you need to get people to see your product so you don't have to spend hours surfing. Also, there's a link in my signature(not trying to promote, just help) to a training program that helps you out with all that for free. I've learned quite alot from them in the short time I've been with them & they are seriously dedicated to teaching people the ways of IM. They've even got weekly webinars that you can attend without signing up. Good luck!

I agree...article marketing is still a very good way to drive targeted traffic to any website.

Start by promoting affiliate products. Find a niche that your interested in, set up a simple squeeze page and begin to advertise. Video blogging is becoming very popular.

Remember to focus on one thing at a time

Then when I have a article that does really well I make it into a video. It is very powerful.

Hoping to make money is not the way to go about it. You need to have a plan. If you like writing articles then pick a niche that people are promoting and sell them as PLR right here on the Warrior Forum in the Warrior Products & Services.

If you are good at writing then offer your writing services here

Thank you guys for the help. I definitely want to set up a squeeze page, I just haven't figured out which niche or what I want to promote. I've gone through clickbank a bit, but have not found the product which I want to market. What is a good method for selecting your product? I want to make sure I pick the right one for my first attempt. Just as long as I can bring in some type of revenue.

I think everyone can agree that when picking a product, go for something you would purchase or under a category you enjoy yourself. If you wouldn't buy it, how can you expect to convince others to buy it? & if it's something that involves a passion or hobby of yours, that puts you several steps ahead when it comes to writing good content about a service or product because you won't have to spend too much time on research which gives you more time to market. Also, if you enjoy the subject, you'll be more likely to enjoy your work & you'll work harder to make things happen

Instead of directly promoting Clickbank products using article marketing (which is not allowed btw), you should setup a blog or website about a topic / niche you love to write about or can find good content for, then start building traffic to it using on site & off site SEO & other ways of promotion (which includes article marketing as well) & then monetize the traffic you are getting.

To get into details:

Pick a topic / niche you love, if you can do a bit of niche research (loads of useful resources are out there) then you can find a less competitive & profitable niche very easily.

You can easily setup search engine optimized content website for that niche using Wordpress.

To monetize you can promote Clickbank or other CPA offers on your blog related to the niche of your blog. You can also use Adsense or build your list.

Start marketing (off site seo), build quality backlinks, spread out the word about your blog using article & social media marketing.

Scale this up or outsource. Start right away, you will learn lot more during the process. Warriors are always here to help.

OMG just pick one.

That is the stupidest comment I have heard.

That is the problem most newbies give up...they cant move on to the next phase.

Do not worry if you get the perfect niche.

There is lots of ways to fail and make money also.

I have found that out of 10 niche ideas I have 1 is outstanding, 2 are good and the rest throw away jobs. That is just the way the cookie crumbles.

Learn to live with it, pick one and move to the next stage.

Not taking action is not going to make you money now is it.

I guess my problem is, i'm going through the categories on clickbank and just not really finding anything that I am interested in. Once I can get by this step--it will be smooth sailing.

To reiterate what everyone has said before: You must have a solid plan. Hoping will not cut it. Think about your hobbies. What would do all day if you weren't having to earn money? Whatever that thing is, the activity that you would do if you had no constraints on your time, is the area that you should be marketing in. Take some time to carefully and intelligently search the Warrior Forum. There is a veritable gold mine of information here, and all you have to do is find it.

That being said, try to not worry so much about the money. It's like a butterfly -- if you chase it, it will elude you, but if you sit still it will silently come and land on your shoulder. (This isn't to say you don't have to work; just try not to have all your thoughts centered around the money you don't have yet -- and I know how hard that sounds).

Just remember to pick a niche', not a category. What I mean is, don't just looking at.... say, golfing. Look at left handed golfers over 50... or something like that.

The further down you drill into a niche the better it will convert.

Also, try to solve a problem, not just supply general help information. People that are looking to solve problems are people who want to buy now.

Take for instance someone who has acne and it is right before prom time. They aren't searching for information, they are looking for a solution to there problem fast and they are in "buying" mode.

Seriously though, there's some great advice on this thread.

There are so many ways to make money online it's quite simply stoopid.

Ultimately, you need to focus on one thing and go after it. Launching a blog and building a list, regardless of how much fun it can be, does take time.

I would recommend video blogging about something you're passionate about (as long as you have basic camera skills and standard editing software).

Article marketing has always been a free way to generate traffic (you're writing skills seem decent enough). Look up Bill Platt here on the forum. He wrote a good (and FREE) book on article marketing. You can find the download link in his sig.

Search for Paul Counts, Jeff Wellman, Keith Wellman, Eric Holmlund and Liz Tomey. PLR may be a good choice for you as well. They also create AWESOME PLR content. I would heavily advise signing up at ericstips.com . He gives you video tutorials on how to set up an online biz from a to z and eeven technical stuff. Go sign up for it now! Easiest way to make money is this business is simple:

1. Hang out where people talk about problems and issues they have (WF is great for this)

2. Create a product that helps them solve their problems

3. Offer them the product.

It really is that simple..

You don't need secrets and tricks - those 3 lines are very powerful.

Some other options out there for affiliates are commission junction or link share. Both offer PLENTY of affiliate programs for you to choose from. I've noticed most of clickbank's affiliate programs are more e-books than anything, but with the others, you can promote more products. Amazon is a good one too. Have you tried doing a general search for affiliate programs?

Some of your comments, I don't fully understand what you're implying...But the useful information you other guys provided is highly appreciated. I know it can be done and I am not going to quit.

I think I am going to start with opening an android mobile blog and promote the crap out of it as well as write some articles..I'm sure I can bring in at least something and I spend a lot of time programming and various things for my Motorola Atrix.

And I am not sure what you meant about the comment about my cell phone and you watching Law and Order?

Unless you will not do anything, you will not learn anything, its as simple as that. There are many warriors helping you out & I thank them all but its you who have to take the action. Remember you will learn a lot more by doing instead of just wondering what should be done or the best way to do it. Make a start then find ways to make it successful. Do it step by step & you will succeed for sure.

If you are really serious about making money online then you need to find someone that can show you a proven path to success and then stick with it and master it.

If you think that you are going to just figure it out by reading a bunch of stuff and then it will just happen then I can guarantee you will be here 3+ years from now asking the exact same questions. Think about it for a minute. Did you learn anything in life by just hoping that you were going to figure it out. How did you learn to read, write, drive a car, do the things you do at your job? etc etc. All these things were taught to you by someone that actually knew what they were doing.

So read a bit and figure out what you actually want to accomplish and then find someone to teach you how to do it and then the most important thing TAKE ACTION!! Do these things and you will succeed.

first you need to find a niche with a large tribe of followers, not only large, but a tribe of followers that you can get to, there are lots of great niches out there but you just cant get to the people, its important the groups hang out in certain areas, as this makes it both easier and cheaper to get to them, once these things fall into place then its time to start looking at a product, in the early days we went down the roads of picking products 1st, even went on local radio etc, only then to think s**t, how to we gat to this mass of customer we know are out there !!, find the market 1st not thge product, and make sure you can get to them

Also you need to close yourself off from all the audio wallpaper out there, the white noise of people trying to sell you the dream, the dream is there, it just takes work, our 1st success was to find a market of people who where in a certain niche, we knew we could get to them, and we did this by riding on the shoulders of the big guys in this niche, it worked really well and still does today
