How Do I Notify Targeted Group of People About My Website Without Trying to Spam Them?

Hi Guys

The title says it all.

How do I notify a targeted group of people about my website without trying to spam them?

Those are people whom I got their email address from in my previous work place. I don't know 100% of everyone and they may not necessarily remember me.

I just wanted them to become aware of my new squeeze page (prior to launch day) and possibly get them to sign up to my mailing list to get notified when my website is launched.

Could I get your collective thoughts? Thanks very muchie!

Why you want them to sign up when you can manually add their email addresses in your mailing list. Alittle bit maybe somehow unethical. But just my 2 cents.

I was thinking of getting them to sign up so they can opt in. But if I email them with a link to my squeeze page, it might appear to be spam to them.

This website will be very relevant to them and those are the audience I want for my website launch. I am just facing this spam hurdle.

I'm trying to draw a distinction but it seems I can't do this properly can I?

Well if they have seen you for even once they might remember you or sign up in the suspicion that they might know you. Better send out the email. I think it will work just fine.

I wouldn't be afraid of sending them a PERSONAL mail. Just remind them who you are and tell them more about what you do.

        Good luck

          ^^^ exactly this.

Send a personal email inviting them to your squeeze page..."You may not remember me, but we worked together on..." or somesuch.

Sending a personal mail once cannot be considered spamming. It is those mails with lots of others email addresses that bugs me.

You can openly invite them once - if they join, fine. If not, you can still write to them one on one as a "friend" - not salsy kind of mail though.

Send them each a personalized email with a good atmospheric message reintroducting yourself and explaining what you are referencing the contact towards. I don't know if you use a list builder such as Aweber, etc, but you must extend the option to add them to your list. If they decline, of course, you can't send them the emails without it being spam. But if they recognize you or see your email as interesting to them and their personal needs and accept the list invitation, you are on your way.

But still too many emails is not good either. You understand that though.

You will be able to keep separate lists inside of Aweber.
