Yep. I won it in a contest here, in fact.

I love it. Not only is it easy to use, with a wide selection of books available for it, you can convert PDFs and text files to carry on it as well.

Very handy critter. The battery life is pretty much what they claim in the advertising, too. If you aren't using the wireless function, you can go for days without needing to recharge.

The experimental browser is a kludgy thing, but it's not usually mentioned as being available, so I just look at that as a bonus. It's been handy for settling bets using Google on occasion.

Glad to be of service, sir.

THAT is funny. Unless a person is beating someone else up over their grammar, has asked for a review, or is claiming to be an expert writer, I rarely correct anyone's grammar. I mostly couldn't care a lot less.

Although, I do have to say that I rather like Roger's cleverly phrased explanation: "Wombatized by his presence." That has a nice ring to it.

      Suh-WIPE!

For sure, Paul.. My heightened awareness of my Bad Grammar is not because of your actions.. more because of mine

I was a little bit nervous about getting it because I didn't want to work on a computer all day and then look at a computer all night! I was pleasantly surprised that the "liquid ink" technology makes the Kindle read just like a book. It's nothing like a computer screen.

One down side is that if you are reading anything with graphics, the images do not come across at all, if they are even uploaded.

I do like that you can adjust the size of the type. I still have good eyesight, so I set it to a small setting so that I get the maximum number of words per screen. But if you like your type bigger, it's just an easy flick of a button.

After Christmas, you should be able to pick up good deals on Ebay. I've seen several kindles advertised there when people have been given them as a gift or won them in a raffle and they're just not interested. Usually they're a little cheaper than on Amazon.

Silly question time, how do you sell a kindle and move the contract over to another person, especially as you're not allowed to pass the content over, or have things changed recently?

      Bev,

You just de-register it and re-register it under your own Amazon account.

When I got the one Allen offered here as a prize, it was still registered to his account. Switching it was easy.

Thanks Paul, does that mean the content though still stays with the original purchaser.

I assume this is a great way to stop people passing books on, because you can't

Yep. On the flip side, anything you order with one Kindle can be re-downloaded later if you need to get a replacement or just deleted it from the one you have.

      Very cool system.

I want a Kindle sooooo bad. I never thought about getting a used one...interesting I'm particularly interested in the e-ink screen. It seems that all screens should be made that way to save our eyes!
