Ugh how long DOES IT TAKE?

I started IM in February, I made some sites and started writing books for kindle.
We're in May now and 1 of my sites is at number 2 on google.com
the other has just reached number 1 in google UK (because that's where the traffic for the keyword was coming from)
and some of my recent ones are dancing for now...but I have made nooo sales. I'm getting clicks just not sales XD

Kindle's a different story, I make around $2-3 a day with kindle. But it's taking some time to generate some sales with SEO.
I'm not on the lines of giving up as that's definitely not a habit of mine, I'm just curious in knowing how long it takes to make a sale.
....one lousy sale
lol
#long #ugh

    Be patient...

There's no set time limit on how long it takes to begin making steady sales.

You need to keep learning and making adjustments. Maybe your sales copy isn't as good as you think it is. Maybe you need more content on the sites. Maybe there's not a big market for what you're selling. There could be a dozen variables that make the difference between a sale and no sales.

Seems like you're doing ok with Kindle. Think about adding more titles that cater to a niche audience. Rinse and Repeat.

    Hi Tarik93,

I started not long before you, and have optimised sites before, but I am only doing a few of my personal sites, not hundreds for affiliate reasons. I am also aware that google is trying to weed out affiliate sites from its rankings and that combined with being a new site may make your dance more erratic than desirable.

I think you are doing very well for the rankings if they are your key keywords, wish I had the same traction ... but like they say, there are many things involved and constant vigilance is required. Good luck to you and me.

If you are getting targeted clicks on your site, then it is just a matter of time before you start seeing sales. There are plenty of ways to make money online. Just focus on getting in front of targeted traffic, and deliver a product or service that can make you money. Eventually, something is going to work.

I would split-test a lot of different sales copies, taking many different approaches. I mean, it ultimately will depend on the niche when it comes to which sales copy will work, but you may need to do a lot of testing.

It is great that you are #1, but is the traffic high for that keyword and is the traffic sales-ready? What I mean is if they are typing in that word, are they looking to buy or just looking for info? If they are just looking for info, try getting their email through a free ebook and then entice them from there with follow-up emails.

Best of luck and stick with it!

I am interested in how you make money with Kindle? I am assuming you are writing books? Is this what your website is about.

As far as your question the answer is that you may start making sales today or you may make sales never. I have a website that I built that has had thousands and thousands of visitors and I still have yet to sell one copy of the ebook that I was targeting.

Its a trial and error thing, if your going to be a success I think you have to be ready to fail and keep going. Not saying you won't start selling today!

    anyway, good luck OP

Kindle books aside, what are you trying to sell through your own sites, how much traffic are you getting to them, and how targeted is that traffic? And what are you actually doing to sell prospects on your product/service once they land there?

It's pretty much impossible to say why you aren't making sales when no-one has any idea of what it is you're trying to do and how.

I'm selling an amazon product on a few of my websites, traffic just started to pick up as one of them has just reached position 1.
I'm selling the product via review.
I think everything is in order. I've been following an honest respectable marketer. But to be far i only have 4 websites and the keywords i used on the first two websites was a bit broad. The second two have buying keywords. I guess i need to give them more time since they haven't been in their positions long.

And yeah I'm always adding new content

    Tarik,

Google tolerates affiliate sites as long as they provide something useful. I am working in one particular niche with hundreds/thousands affiliate sites and the TOP ones provide daily new unique content... even with 3 affiliate links per post.

    !!!

Google keeps them up there - it seems - cause they provide authority unique content everyday.

Now YOU have to decide what to do with your time - sometimes it's a lose battle and time to move on.

If you create your own product, and affiliates are actively sending you traffic, you can hit five figures per month in 2-4 months.

On the other hand, if you're just an affiliate looking to promote other people's products, the road can be a very long one indeed.
