Hey everyone!

I hope this is in the right place.....

Does anyone know of any free video editing software?

I have two videos and I want to cut the first few seconds away on each. I don't need to do any thing fancy.

Thanks!!!

  • Sony Vegas is a great starter program and it is only around $30 or so to download. Free may be a better price, but you get what you pay for.

    • You can download either Camtasia or Sony Vegas for free as they both have 30 day trial periods. I would suggest just downloading the Camtasia trial if all you need to do is slice a little bit of the clip off as there is no learning curve - it's very simple to use.
  • You could try magix movie editor.
  • You're not going to get anything for free That's Good! My Guess is Sony Vegas it work's like a dream and is really good. I'm not hinting but I bet you could get it for free (Full version) Also I would grab After effects and Twixtor 4.5.

  • If you have a Windows machine Windows Movie Maker should do this very quickly and easily. It's when you want to do more complicated things that WMM falls short. If you are looking for an affordable paid option that can put together amazing videos (you'll still need to learn how) then look no further than Sony Vegas Pro.

I have used versions 7 through 9 and it is one of the best editing programs to sink your teeth into and learn the ropes.

    • Windows Movie Maker for Windows.

      iMovie for Mac.

These are free, and they do the job well for a basic video editor. But if you are gonna go to the next level, I highly recommend Adobe Premiere Elements for Windows, and Final Cur Express for Mac.
