How to Buy High PR Sites(inexpensively OR efficiently?)

Hey guys,

I was hoping to find a way to find expiring(or expired) websites with high page rank(and of course backlinks, haven't been dropped, etc.) that didn't cost an arm and a leg.

I looked through godaddy and you can't search by PR and freshdrop.net costs $37 per month...

I don't mind spending the $37 IF that's the best solution; but my question is of course IS THERE A BETTER WAY?

Help a brother out!

Thanks!

Ike

Be careful buying domains with pagerank. Google has been known to devalue a sites PR when it changes hands. And that doesn't even take into account domains with fake PR that still command thousands of dollars.

The best way to get domains with high PR is to simply buy domains fresh and build up the PR yourself. It's going to take longer, but at least you know the PR won't drop.

EDIT: I am not affiliated with that site in anyway, just the first thing that popped up after doing a quick google search.

You're going to fail. If you're afraid of failure then you do not belong in the Internet Marketing Business. Period.

      I second this. Be careful.

I had a client who was buying high PR sites and then changing the context of the sites (ie. buying a nursing site and then making it be about soundproofing; or what was once a resort site and trying to make it about soundproofing). At the end of the day, 2 of his 5 sites were delisted altogether.

I think GoDaddy will (or used to be able to) provide you with FTP access to a daily datafeed of all their domains?

If you can get access to that, you can import the URLs into some sort of PR-checking tool and sort from there.

Remember, though: sites don't have PR - only pages do. If "http://yourdomain.com" is PR-5, that only applies to the homepage, and doesn't tell you anything else about the PR of other pages that may exist (or have existed) on that site, which could, in theory, be even higher. Just saying.

And yeah, be careful about how you go about it. In certain circumstances, you can lose your PR during the transition.
