Give me some tips on to make my site better please?

Hello this is my first post and I hope this is the right spot.

about 1-2 weeks ago I opened up my site which is mwmbgpt.com
I've only got 3 people to complete a survey and made $2.20. I'm wondering how do I get more people to come to my site? Better yet how do I get users to come to my site AND actually be a regular visitor to do surveys?

I've got a couple backlinks(some EDU ) to my site, bought some google adwords(though I haven't gotten a single click in the past 2 weeks -_-), told my friends and advertised on forums that have members that look for ways to earn money.

I have money to spend, but I don't want to waste unless it's going to actually help. Any tips on how to improve my webiste? I'm open to anything that helps really. Harsh criticism really as long as it's useful in some way.

side note: I can't edit any of the pages on the website cause my site is hosted by the script provider that will only give me limited access. I can only edit the homepage and thats it.

I really do need the help. I don't want to give up. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

I am going to reply to your post as someone who doesn't operate any Internet marketing sites..but I find this forum very useful for all of my businesses which all require 'Internet Marketing' to be successful.

I work in the seed, tree, nature business. That is my niche. I find it very rewarding being in this business for 8 years. I enjoy what I do and make a good living at it. My advice to you is, follow your heart and dreams. Is a survey site something you really wanted to dedicate your life and hard earned money too? Is making $2.29 a step in the right direction? or is finding your path in life a better motive. What do you enjoy doing in your free time? what are your hobbies? Do you like to fly? do you like dogs? do you like dvd players, coin collecting, pc repair, fly fishing, cooking? Create a website around something you enjoy doing, something you are fond of...and you may find success.

    What's up lock,

Look like we are both pretty new around here. With just a quick glance at your site,
i'm guessing the objection is for them to click that blue button at the bottom
of the page right, then fill out a survey...?

If that's the case then i'd move it up to the top, above the fold. If the mission is
for them to click it, don't make them scroll to find it. Hit em with it!

I would personally place it right under the:
"Receive Free Amazon Gift Cards Everyday!" text.

Having a shoutbox above the fold and making it the center of the attention seems
a bit pointless to me anyway. Unless you're getting 'paid per shout' of course
In which case you'd DEFINITELY have to fill me in on which network that is.

This post is very insightful. Though the reason for this site is just to make money. I play guitar and I'm in a band. We do a few gigs now and then, but it doesn't pay the bills. This site is just to make some side money.

The site seems to be really empty and lack any type of community. When you are trying to build an incentive site, you need to build a lot of loyalty and trust among the users. Nothing about your site tells me that really.

You need to build trust, first and foremost. Use the whole page, create some sort of site instead of just about an offer. Tell them more about your site, what you do, etc. Give away more then a gift card. Entice them with a cool prize.

I would think about getting some blog reviews and advertising on other GPT sites as well once you get your site to where you want to get it too.

But most of all, BUILD TRUST. Trust me, I have done this type of marketing before and have been successful at it. It was my very first type of site almost 5 years ago and it launched me into a great full-time career. Stick with it and build trust. Good luck!

Hi Lockirawr, Welcome onboard to IM World. I think you already have a great start for able to start generating revenue so fast. I do agree with Daniel Key's feedback..one for tip is that you should highlight (bold, bigger font, pic) of the benefits (i.e. the free Amazon gift card).

As to generating traffics, one way is through Social Media i.e. Facebooks, twitters etc...

All the best in your IM Venture.

    Cheers!

Oh, one more tip: site with black background is usually not recommended... learned from some IM books unless you are into hackers/gaming site..

    Cheers

    • I would have a header with a nice graphic that says "get a free amazon gift card" with a lady that looks happy that she got one. Also the "shoutbox" takes up to much space and is NOT necessary. Plus the green doesn't go with the rest of the site. Also put some arrows in there that point to CLAIM YOUR CODE, or some graphic that draws the eye there. I would take away that weird graphic on the top, with the spikes . . .

      Those are my suggestions.

Great recommendation so far. All I would suggest is less is more. If you can have less text, the better. Less going on in the background, the better. The less distractions, the less friction of the prospect taking action.
