Question for WSO sellers

I am probably the only nut that this bothers, but every time I see a WSO with a graphic in it, I see this white block with their pictures in them, on an off white background. Don't you usually try to make your background blend in with the background, or use a PNG files with a transparent background? I am just curious why I see so many graphics that don't blend in to the background color which is f5f5f5 or 245,245,245, and not white.

I know this is not important, and as long as your WSOs sell, who cares. I am just curious, so I asked.

It's already hard enough to work with BB code trying to make a compelling sales thread with good headers, etc... My ears would be bleeding if I tackled that problem!

There's an easy trick to making a great looking WSO, and you don't have to mess around with the BB code, etc... PM me if you'd like to know how.

Where can I get some of that sweaty stuff, Brian? Have you got a WSO for it? Can I get a review copy? I'll post a testimonial and let ya know how it worked out for me.

I overlay the png or jpg with a black screen and set it to 3% opacity and it blends in with the WSO background pretty close. --Mike

What ever graphics people use in their WSOs,usually product depiction pictures.

When ever you see a picture in a WSO, you see the white background with their graphic within it. I just wonder why they don't make the background of their graphic colored f5f5f5 so it blends into the background of the forum, instead of white so it is mismatched.

Same here. I have noticed that in some niches bad design can be the kiss of death...but not when you're selling to marketers. It's all about the copy then

Image is very important to everyone. As humans we are all guilty of judging books by their covers. Who are you more likely to trust selling your house. The guy that turns up in the nice suit or the guy who turns up with the torn clothes and no shoes?

The effort you put into the presentation of your WSO can tell people a lot about the effort and attention to detail you put into your actual products. I'm not saying this small detail will make a huge difference but you shouldn't just rely entirely on the copy - especially when creating a nice looking WSO takes the same amount of time as creating a poorly designed WSO offer.

And that was the point I was interested in. Glad to see I am not the only one that thinks about this minutia. It only takes ten to fifteen seconds to change the background color so it matches, and it then blends in and doesn't look like you slapped it up.

Thanks for all the response. I wasn't sure that anyone would be interested in this.

I don't think this would make a huge difference but I agree that if you are creating the graphic anyway it literally takes 10 seconds to change the background color of the graphic to match that of the forum. I now always do it.

I have just released one, where the ebook cover matches the background of the forum (light grey).

      I wanted to perfect it.

      Here is the ebook cover

Do you see the way it blends? no white around the ebook.

But as others say, leaving it white might not even affect sales.

I just wanted to be a perfectionist!

I just use a transparent PNG for my WSOs.

That way if the forum suddenly turns dark green it still looks good.

Ask yourself what kind of person won't buy your product if the image background colour doesn't match the thread background colour and you'll understand why I don't sweat the white box.

Even if the color matched and the graphics were the most beautiful ever, it wouldn't sell if it had bad copy and the product was crap!, LOL

Yes, the background is F5F5F5, and I always make mine blend in...it's so easy to do, I don't see why others wouldn't do the same. But hey, let them keep doing what they do, just makes mine look better.

Imo, I think it IS important. I think it sends a message that "hey, if this guy can't even match up the colors, what kind of effort did he put into the actual product?".

I know everyone isn't a graphic artist...but come on. Really, if using hex colors is "beyond their capabilities"...maybe they should just go flip burgers

Sorry guys... I do look at graphics... if the graphics are bad I don't buy no matter how good the sales page reads.

Matt Morgan... you matched the background but why did you cut off the shadow... and why is the reflection not faded better... ?

Sorry... I would not buy a product with bad graphics like that.

They aint that bad, as I have had tonnes of compliments from people.
but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Yes, i have to do them minor details to brush it up, but the main thing is that it is selling.

I also noticed this. Sometimes I do pay attention to it and it distracts the content of the WSO, however, if a WSO is good, I never judge it by graphics.

      Me as well.

Thought I guess some wouldn't buy a WSO I have because of the bad graphic. I admit, it does suck.
