Crowd Separation Advice Please?

With Internet Marketing getting more crowded by the second, more people are forced to sell me-too products and services.

How do you separate yourself from the crowd of competition? Any crowd seperation techniques you'd like to share?

For example, one of my favorites is to find out what my competitors hate to do - and start doing it. This never fails to seperate me in the eyes of my targer customers.

What I find is it is more like a pizza. You can make your own style of pizza, and with so many possibilities for ingredients, you can always make something that is unique and worthwhile.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

I like the honest approach. Too many others promise millions of dollars overnight and crazy amounts just to sell a guide to someone. I just tell people up front what they are going to get and how it will work. I never have to worry about refund requests when I do this and those that actually join my lists respond.

Instead of building a list of subscribers I am a big believer in building a community of like minded individuals. Many internet marketers focus too much on making money and do not understand that if you help people, no matter what your niche is, then the money will be there sooner or later.

    That's not true.

Who's forcing them? That's just an excuse for not being creative.

That's a good point, but in a world of keyword searches and the "sell what's already successful" philosophy, the trend to be a maverick creator or pioneer is slowly fading out of style (temporarily I hope). Few Gurus or experts suggest radical creativity.

"if you look what the masses are doing and do the opposite your chances of succeeding are higher" is a success mantra quoted by many ultra successful people.

So, whether there is a philosophy of creating me-too products or not, your business is a personal choice and your success is related to your ability to believe in and back your business. If you're starting from the me-too perspective and you don't even have a USP to start with then I'd suggest you're already on shaky ground.

But hey - if it's not what most Gurus and experts are saying then who am I to disagree. (I feel like adding "I've traveled the world and the seven seas and everybody's looking for something ..." )

Then just go for the products that have fewer people promoting them. I go for lower targeted products than the masses go for. Less is more on the internet because it's enormous. You can have a site target smaller niches, and just ahave more sites in several niches. You will do better and have way less competition in smaller niches.
