Hours now, I've been creating site maps only for Google to tell me there is an ERROR and then telling me it's not in the correct format.

Can someone please point me to a site where I can create a free sitemap to submit so that Google will index my new site?

Here is another sitemap generator

Personally I always like to have available more than one source available, like not having all your eggs in one basket

this site will also make rss feeds for you, critical part of making webpages, which I think is more important than a Google sitemap, make sure to put them both on your pages

why not just create yourself a RSS Feed, and name the file ror.xml and add a link rel in the header tag on the home page that points to the rss feed.
Then every search engine will crawl that page first and index you in a matter of days or sooner.
