What Kind Of Ads To Put On Celeb Blog?

I'm trying to find out how I can make good money from my celebrity blog. I know Adsense is out of the question, I'm trying some Clickbank text ads for paid surveys and work from home, I'm also thinking about trying Amazon.com ads.

What do you think any suggestions?

Here's my blog maybe it'll stimulate some ideas

Define your market first. If you would be reading that blog, what kind of ads would you likely click? Or what product would you buy?

I'd adjust that statement to say that most look just fine, but have self esteem problems, not weight problems.

On a celeb blog you should put up fashion related ads.
Go for fashion accessories, clothings, etc.

Check what the top celeb blogs are doing.
    You'll get the idea..

Excellent tip here. Spy on the big blogs and see what they promote. They've probably already done the testing for you so they know what sells and what doesnt

I'd go with stuff that improves your appearance, like:

teeth whitening, cosmetics, hair care, weight loss or anything associated with celebrity, acting, singing or related niches

Most people watch and admire celebs because they imagine what it would be like to live like them, to be them.

Teeth whitening, teeth straightening, ab workouts, flashy and expensive clothing, high-end car lease ads, anything that will let the average person feel like one of the Hollywood elite they're admiring on your site.

Go to Commission Junction and get some banner ads to add to your ClickBank affiliate links.

        Hope that helps.

    Dave,

I have a bunch of experience with Media Buys on celebrity blogs, including one of the biggest ones out there. Unfortunately with the PH site I lost a lot of money as there was a horrible conversion.

Definitely have a stronger presence of females, ages 18-26 across these types of blogs but you want to double check with a site like Home | Quantcast

Weightloss products are good, check CPA networks such as NeverBlue, MaxBounty, and Copeac.

In my experience stay away from digital products they converted horrible for me. Look for a few "free trial" type offers on tangiable goods.

Perfume is an interesting product to sell, especially with dropshipping, brand name products by celebrities usually work well. Such as Brittney Spears, Sarah Jessica Parker, etc. With dropshipping you can work out your margins to introduce a discount and position yourself lower then most of the other sites on the Internet.

Take a small loss leader on it and hope to build a great buyer list to sell alternative perfumes and products... etc

The majority of the demographic won't spend much, but they will buy with a good deal. If you can get advertising + a post from the owner your conversion will increase greatly. Sometimes you can negotiate this type of deal.

Find out what the celebrities promote in ads and try and offer those products.

Some nicely thought out suggestions above. I would personally try and mix in the weight loss and fashion suggestions that others have noted with an offer that incorporates celebrities as well.

IE- Quick Trim which is endorsed by Kim Kardashian etc etc.

There are a number of similar offers that are built around certain celebrities, and those could turn out to be the most targeted type of offers for your site.

    Hi Dave,
what kind of traffic are you getting? I have a celebrity blog, dude it's so hard to get adesense clicks! I have been using Clickbank (Get your Ex Back), CPA ads (Dating, weightloss, eyelashes), and can't get anything to convert.

My traffic is right around 25,000 impressions per month.

When I look on Flippa, people with that many impressions are making at least $200 or $300 per month.

Have you had any luck with any of the suggestions in this thread?

    • Guys, guys, guys.

I'm assuming you're all (or mostly) guys. Listen to Auntie Fluff here.

The typical female consumer of celebrity gossip is young, poorly-educated, has a dead-end job and little disposable income. She is not looking to become Kim Kardashian, she can't afford that. She fantasizes she *is* Kim Kardashian.

You have to tempt her with cheap trashy/flashy things she can afford (like ShoeDazzle heels for $39.95), eBay (hint: affiliate program), or offer solutions to things someone in her position worries about, like: credit repair, zap fat, weight loss (but only if there's a free trial), getting her debt reduced or bills lowered, etc. Present her with easy ways to make a little extra money. If you think it's ethical, run credit card offers.

Be the one of those lousy bloggers people love to hate, then you'll make tons of money in this niche. Giving them their Brad & Angelina doesn't cut it anymore (and that's so good)

    You can try this order:-
    1. Fashion
    2. Fitness
    3. Tech ads

If you can get direct ads that's fine. If not you can try Smowtion Ads as AdSense is not possible after looking ur site.

I'd promote the products that the celebs are promoting..

If celebrity X has been in a movie recently, promote the movie and take an affiliate commission.

Works for pretty much anything out there.
