Car tuning niche. Good one?

Hi guys,

I'm really enjoying the car tuning and would like to create a product in that niche. Ebook or guide probably.
The topic is "How to tune your car" (interior and exterior styling, engine performance, tyres, rims, suspension, brakes etc.)
The only question that I have - is it a GOOD niche to sell products like that?

I mean it's my hobby for now and I would really enjoy to create good and quality product in car tuning niche, if it would be profitable, of course...

Thanks for your advice.

Do-It-Yourself auto repair is a multi-billion dollar industry. As such, it's an excellent niche to get involved in - provided you know what you're doing.

That means having a well-thought-out marketing strategy and executing said strategy properly. Because it's how well you position yourself within a particular niche that will determine your success or failure. It’s all about differentiating yourself from your competitors. That’s Marketing 101.

You have to clearly explain to people what makes your product or service different and/or better than your competitors. And you have to do it in a compelling fashion.

First of all, you need to do your own research using keyword tool like Adwords Keyword Tool. From there, you will be able to see if there is anyone searching for that keyword (I bet they do).

Secondly, I agree with some of the comment above, just go for it. I remember few years back when I read a story about a guy sell an ebook on how to teach your parrot to talk (or something like that). He made a lot of money from it. I bet there are more car enthusiast than parrot owners around the world.

Third, go to car forums and find the most popular problems people face when it comes to car tuning and try to solve the problem. They are more than happy to buy your ebook if you can provide the solutions.

    Good luck!

Do it! Most people don't even get as far as you. (Coming up with a good idea.)

Even fewer will take the next step, which is to take action.

Do the keyword research and competition research and report that data. Then, we can really tell you if it's a good niche.

Do a google analytics search or keyword search and see how many people are searching for the topic you want to create your product for. You may also find an area that people are searching that you can create a product for.

Along with car tuning, I'll bet if you had a site that had easy explanations as to what warning symbols are that light up on the dash of all popular makes and models that would generate a lot of traffic and from there you could sell your car tuning guide, heck you could sell a lot of different guides to that traffic source like Start A Car Detailing Business; Car Dealership Service Gouging; What The Dealers Mechanic Won't Tell You; How To Get Cheaper Car Insurance, and the list goes on...

Cory Rudl, one of the great Internet marketing pioneers, got stated in the automotive niche with an e-book. He went on to make hundreds of thousands of dollars with it, so I'd say yes, there is definitely potential there.

I make a bit with some aftermarket affiliate programs. There are plenty of them on CJ and Google Affiliates for you to pick from. Most of them have data feeds if you want to do more of a storefront type affiliate site, or you can pick and choose specific products to match a specific automotive niche. That's what I do.

Do some research to find what car models are popular with aftermarket do it yourselfers. Some of the best are the BMW M3/3 series, Hondas (just about any of the cars), VW Golf/GTI/Jetta/Rabbit, Jeeps, 4x4 trucks, Ford Mustangs, and Chevy Corvettes. Build a site around a specific model. You'll have plenty of competition, so do your homework.

Forums are super popular for aftermarket mods, so use them for research, then start one fo your own.

I think it is an excellent niche/idea. My husband is forever looking for info on how to tune his Nissan Safari. You can build a really big site for all the different cars and if you put up a blog where people can comment and ask for advice I think it will be a big hit!

Here is a link to a free wordpress guide with videos
    Chad Eljisr
that you can download and this very same guy has an excellent ebook on how to write your own ebook - just ask him when you get to his site as I cannot remember the name.

    Best of luck!

I would say go for it my friend. Most people don't know a thing about cars beyond how to drive/start it. That would be a great one, and there is definitely a market for it.

Perfect niche. A very good idea in my opinion. People that tune their cars are usually spending a good amount of money on it. So they obviously have enough money to buy an eBook about how to do it the right way. Go for it!

Very very good niche. In fact, I have a couple friends pretty much banking good money in the same niche.

Like others have mentioned, do your research and you're well off on your way.

    Good luck.

    P.S. Welcome to the forum

It's a pretty sweet niche, you just have to make sure that you narrow it down to a particular car per each project. For example there's the VW JETTA but which engine? The 2.5 or the 2.0? This makes all the difference to gearheads.

Well, I can really sense that you're really passionate about it and is really adept. The most important thing here is you LOVE what you do - that's a good foundation. Now, all you need to do, just like everyone here is saying - Do your research first and make your product exceptional. Then everything will just fall into place. Don't expect anything big at first. Learn to be patient - as long as you don't quit then you should be good. That's the key!

I would quickly test it via pay per click. Test leading people to your squeeze page for your main keyword terms, and see if them will sign up for your free offer/free ebook. If you're getting alot of hits but only a little bit of leads, then i would shy away from the niche. But if you test and are getting alot of hits, and alot of people are subscribing... this might be a hot niche that you will want to stay in.

very close, if you do a quick search for

fix my car myself - how to tune my own car - Google Search

how to tune my own car - Google Search

tune my car - how to tune my own car - Google Search

Will not go on, but there are zero / 0 ads showing in google, people are not paying a dime to promote those terms for a reason, there is generally no money in it.

In addition your question is to broad in that there are countless cars, countless problems and most people looking to do any kind of this work as a general rule are broke and why may search for a free guide or help or they are car nuts in clubs and most of them have nfi anyway, and are more interested in waffle.

how to tune my own car - Google Search

if you go into service my car then it looks a bit better so an general site with hints / tips then some adsense may work / with some free paid guides maybe ?

in general i see car tuning have a bigger range of outcomes than dating as broad cover ?

what do they call it? debbie downer ? anyway sure go for the idea it just seems to open non specific, many people laser target sites keywords and this seems more like a hand grenade and hoping for some results?

If you really liked tuning cars, then you could consider starting a forum / blog ? and use that as a base to attract people then to sell local advertising for workshops and or adsense. but that market is also well covered so choose your fight careful. - good luck as you move forward.
