Starting From Scratch...New Keywords???

Well ever since the Panda update from google 2 of my sites that I was ranking within the first few pages (between pages 1-3 for most keywords) have gone to basically google hell. Dropping very low and no signs of coming back. My main main site was not affected at all BUT now im thinking of just dropping the other 2 sites as far as work put into it and seo (they did not make much money to begin with).

My question is however on my #1 site im only trying to rank for 25 keywords. Should I be doing a lot more then that amount AND if so do I try for low, medmium or very high words to rank for since these would be new additions to try and build for?

Love to hear suggestions on what I may try and do to push my time towards.

Thank you in advance

  • I like the term "Google hell", to what I have understand Google is currently dropping sites that are having very little value or sites that mainly has a lot of link pointing to what we normally call as money sites. SEO will never be the same, because what we use to do may not give us the same benefits as before. As you might have heard, ezinearticles is hit hard and consider to be a content farm of some sort. Other then that sites that uses incentive tricks to get backlinks also gets penalized... I think google is trying to make the Search Environment more humanized, in other words optimized for value to the users, because people who may be optimizing for the same keywords on the other side may not be so noble, so if they drop your pages there might just be something wrong within your onpage or offpage factors. You might just need to look at it deeper.

Hey man I think you're doing too much. Just focus on a few keywords that are high value and relevant.

Sometimes if you try and focus on too many, you run yourself thin.

You do not want to be a jack of all trades but a master of nothing...

    Focus on something.

I believe their recent algorithm change made it so that sites with content just for the sake of SEO were penalized. In the process, they punished other domain holders as well. Keywords related to technology and video games get pretty heavy traffic and my sites weren't affected too heavily by google.

Thanx so far for the input. Yea im aware of what the update did and like i was saying earlier my MAIN site is ok but now really just want to focus on that site 100% instead of 33%.

So so far it seems I should just try and get the keywords im working on now to teh top instead of taking on new ones.
