Google traffic estimator?

I found a keyword term that google says gets 600,000 global and 400,000 monthly searces. But in the traffic estimator it returned only 1 daily estimated click for position 1. (with $20 cpc and $5000 daily spending limits) So is this keyword actually getting this kind of monthly traffic?

Make sure to look at the exact and not broad.

There are various things to consider. First is broad vs. exact match as someone else mentioned. Next would be that the google keyword research tool shows monthly visits, not daily, so you need to divide that number by 30. After that you factor in CTR. Since the estimates are for ppc ads and not organic listings, you CTR will likely be much lower. Lastly you have to factor the number of ads for that term for which you will be splitting your clickthroughs with. I'm not positive that Google factors this in or not, but I'm thinking they might.
