Wordpress & HostGator

Hey,


I installed a wordpress with HostGator on my site using wordpress quick install. I received an e-mail, saying :

Your new WordPress site has been successfully set up at:

....

You can log in to the administrator account with the following information:

Username:
Password:


Now the question is, where can I log in, I mean on which URL or is this in HostGator cp and if, where?

    you need to type in the url - yourdomain.com/wp-admin. replace yourdomain with the actual domain that you set it up with.

        Is this working immediately? I tried adding wp-admin behind my url and nothing happens. It opens the same website..


        Can this be because my hostgator account is currently unavailable? I`m sure I installed the wordpress.. also received e-mail as said

            There is still this basic godaddy page .. I haven`t done any changes on the site yet because I had other work to do.

            Should I take everything from the site and then install wordpress? I worked with joomla only so I don`t know much or almost nothing about wordpress

              Seems like you missed a few steps. I just clicked on your link and it looks like you haven't changed the name servers yet.

              Here are some simple steps to follow:

              1) Create an addon or subdomain on hostgator for your new domain.
              2) Install Wordpress using Fantastico.
              3) Go to Godaddy.com and change the Name Servers to point to Hostgator.
              4) Wait until Godaddy makes the changes (time varies).
              5) Enjoy your new website :-)

    They pretty much explained it above. I know sometimes when I set one up the password doesn't work. I just do a password reset and it will send you a new one to your password you set the acct up with.

    if you want the cpanel and not wp-admin type yourdomain.com/cpanel

    once in cpanel just check that its been installed, or re run fantastico.
