OMG...What I Just Discovered

Today has been an exciting day for me at the WF. Thanks to people like
Eric L and Tom W, I was forced to really open up my mind today.

One thing I hope everybody here has learned about me is that I will always
admit when I don't have all the answers or when I was wrong about something.

Anyway, something Eric and Tom said clicked something inside of me and
finally got me out of my own little world, my little, condensed, narrow
minded world.

I realized, and came up with, a brilliant business model that will take me
very little work to put together and will earn me an extra $7,500 a month
with no problem at all. That's $90,000 in addition to the 150K I'm going to
finish with when this year ends.

And that doesn't include 2 projects I am working on, one with a fellow
warrior and one on my own. It's just something that popped into my
head. And I know I'm looking at this money, almost guaranteed, because
I already have the target market in place. These are people who have
asked me for this stuff.

By being wrapped up in my little narrow minded world, I ignored what these
people were saying and dismissed it because I thought it would be...

Too much work
Not profitable enough

But then I took out a calculator and did some math and I discovered that
this could easily be done with a total monthly expense of about $200.

The same $200 I just cleared out of my daily routine by getting rid of
some dead weight.

Yes, I know...everybody wants to know what it is.

As much as I usually share everything I do, in this case, I have to shut
my mouth because everybody and their grandmother will be on it in a
heartbeat and my income ends up getting cut in half, or worse. So in
this case, I'm going to have to keep the details to myself.

But...I can tell you this much and it should help you a lot.

1. Build a list. I'm serious. Build a list in any niche. It doesn't even matter
what it is. Just build one as long as the niche itself has disposable income
to spend to solve their main problems.

2. Listen to your list. Ask questions. Pay attention to the answers. More
specifically, listen very carefully when somebody says...."Are you planning
to come out with..." or "Any chance you can do..." Again, I am dead
serious.

3. Put out an email to your list and tell them your idea (that was actually
given to you by one of your list members) and ask them if it's something
that they'd be interested in and if so, what would they pay for it?

If the response warrants going through with it, based on time and expense
factors, do it. I mean for crying out loud...

Your list just told you what they want!

Do you have any idea how powerful that is?

You don't have to do weeks or even months of boring research. Your list
just said to you...

1. This is what I want.
2. This is what I'm willing to pay for it.

What more can you possibly want?

This simple process is going to earn me an extra $90,000 next year.

Add to that the projected $150,000 from my other 2 projects and that's
an extra $240,000 next year. That brings me up to close to $400,000
income for 2009.

And even if I only do HALF of that (if I just really screw up) that's 200K
for 2009.

Thank you Eric and Tom for making me see that I not only HAVE to think
big but that I CAN think big.

And so can each and every one of you.

    Congrats, Steve.

Hard work and selflessness pays dividends.

Enjoy 2009, fella. And learn some new chords.

    Kind regards,

Steve, how are you going to explain all this extra cash
      to the wife

Seriously, I love those moments of clarity (wish I had more of them though)

      Good luck and Merry Christmas!

LOL - that's the first thing that went through my head :p Poor Steven, the man has a hard enough time convincing his wife he's not doing anything illegal here... just wait til she sees an EXTRA 100k coming into that bank account!

In all seriousness though, Steven, that's wonderful! Just another testament to the fact that smart work pays off - and just one more reason why you're still one of my favourite Warriors!

What WSO? My friend, that's IT.

That's all you have to do. It's built in research if you just communicate with
      your list.

There's nothing to sell here. Anybody can do this is they just keep their
eyes and ears open and communicate.

The key is listening because the only time you can gain new knowledge
is when you listen. When you talk, you're just saying what you already
know. Sure, you can jog some ideas by talking to yourself, but you'll
get many more ideas by listening to others.

That was another part of my little closed world. I sometimes thought (once
I started having some success) that I had all the answers and could
figure it all out myself (which some people from another thread do believe)
but I don't. I believe that you can't work in a vacuum. You have to
interact with others and get ideas from others.

I learned more today in one thread, and got more ideas from that one
thread than from all the "doing it myself" that I've done the last 12 months.

List building is another issue altogether and too broad a topic to cover in
          a forum post.

My advice is to get a product that teaches list building. I don't know which
are considered the "best" ones available so many somebody here at the
forum can chime in and offer some suggestions.

    Hi Steve,

You really Rock. You just give me an idea of what I can do with my list of suscribers. With a little caclucations that I have just done, this makes me feel that I am going to add nearlly $4-$5k to my monthly income.

Steve I aways follow your post and I must say you are the greatest warrior ever.

    Happy holidays

    Mark Joyner had a formula:

    Give it to them
    Offer them another serve....

    So simple, so effective.

    Steven, great post.
    Very timely to my situation.
Re: how to build a list - I created a piece of software which is somewhat useful - let people build free membership sites with wordpress (which is also free).
Each free download goes through opt-in.
So i accumulated a list to which i tried to spam a bit with below zero result.
And just today (without reading Steve's post) I sent my list a question "what the best feature you'd like to have" ?
From about 1% of people who bothered replying - I got 2 interesting points:
    1. People asking for features that my software already have. Which says about lousy description of features on my site.
    2. Two different persons asked about feature that allows to run membership site empires on full autopilot - and that what i am going to implement next. Makes so perfect sense!

While i cannot state 6 figure results from this yet, I just started 2 months ago, but it does make me feel like its definitely right thing to do.

From what I have seen from Steven, he shares his information and it is not because he has a WSO coming up, this man just has a knack for sharing his knowledge and he does share some golden nuggets at times...

    Wow Steven,

Straight to the point, yes i would agree with you.
But i would just like to add something here.

    1. Ask them what they want
    2. Sell them what they ask for
    3. And Make them a crazy offer that is impossible to say "no", like free-trial, $1 trial.
