Blogging - Just stick to one topic?

I'm tired of managing several blogs/sites, so I'm thinking of creating one personal authority blog and use it to blog about wealth, health (inner and physical health) and relationships mainly. Sort of like an online magazine.

I think it will save me a lot of time and prevent me from trying to do too many things at the same time...

I really like the idea, as I really believe it will keep me focused better, instead from jumping around from one thing to another, but business wise I don't know whether this will be a smart move.

I don't know whether I'll be able to attract targeted visitors this way.
The idea is to create several presell pages for different products in different niches ofcourse. So basically I want to send people over to different presell pages and use the homepage just as a blog.

What do you think? Smart move or bad move?

Absolutely smart move because google loves blogs more then anything and your plan on sticking one thing is a very good decision...

Building an authority site surely takes time. If you are able
to make the investment of time, then I'd say go for it. Before
jumping in, do you have any idea how you plan on monetizing
the website? I'd definitely recommend thinking this out on paper
before doing anything. Use some Mind Mapping software.

Very smart move. Once you rank your authority site and generate traffic you can then direct your traffic to your pre-sell pages. I would imagine there are lots of avenues to monetise this niche ranging from adsense through to affiliate programs including services.

Good stuff but you shouldn't try to blog about 10 different topics at the same time. Try to take 1 to 5 topics and I suggest you to start right now. When you index on Google and post often, you will gain more and more traffic and obviously authority!

A magazine naturally has different topics so your authority blog sounds like a good idea. Who knows down the line it may develop into an online magazine. You could have the next Time or Reader's Digest. It's very possible. Good idea.

There are a few upsides to doing it that way - better branding overall, potentially higher PR on the homepage, faster indexing rate, etc. The major downside would be that your homepage probably won't rank high for any particular keyword since it wouldn't be logical to target just one.
