Well, it's 1 or 3 questions depending how you look at it..

1. What's the app/software/script that forces the user to "Like" a facebook fan page before they can access the contents of the page?
For example "Like the page to download XYZ freebie..."

2. Can you integrate an optin form directly into the fan page **Landing Page**?
A lot of pages have a) like fan page ==> then b) optin form as one of the tabs of the fan page

As you can pull in iframes in the landing page, has anyone tried to pull in an optin form directly?

Essentially drive traffic to the "fan page", i.e. the fan page landing page...put in an optin form along the lines "optin to download XYZ freebie" and they are on your list...kind of bypassing the social element of having people on a fan page

3. Another way of seeing this is...is there a facebook app/script that gets people on your mailing list *automatically* as soon as they "Like" the fan page?

Sorry for the long (and many) questions...hope they make sense and thanks in advance for you input!

    In answer to both of your questions. YES.

    The best app to get (and it is free) is http://www.facebook.com/hostediframe

    You can set one html page for LIKERS and one html page for NON LIKERS. And of course you can get that optin form in there also...

    Thanks to both...and perhaps I should have been more clear on the 3rd question...do you know of any app that adds the fan to your autoresponder *automatically* upon him liking your fan page?

    What you are referring to is a violation of FB Policy.

    It can be seen here: Facebook Platform Policies - Facebook Developers

    c. You must not incentivize users to Like any Page other than your own site or application, and any incentive you provide must be available to new and existing users who Like your Page.
    Take my advice and experience. Violating the policy will lose you money and could even get you sued.

    Considering it's against the TOS, it also means it's BlueFart and should not be discussed here if you plan to use it.

    Yes. In the Facebook search box type in "Static HTML". You can use this to paste HTML from aweber or custom landing page designs.

    No ... BUT you could create an application that collects the users email address upon allowing. I've done this for a few clients in the past. PM me if you want more information on that.

    If you plan to collect email addresses you need to provide a privacy policy and a TOS and ensure you detail exactly what you will use their email address and personal details for.

      By webiste I'm 99% sure they mean an actual website and not their fan pages.

      It's a dark area mate. I'd see no issue with: "Please like our page to gain access to our free eBook" ... that sort of stuff I see a lot from big companies.

      It's mainly aimed towards people that do stuff like "Press like to view this image".

      Join the Facebook developer forums and ask someone if what you want to do is allowed. Or, you could use IRC. Facebook has a channel for developers on Freenode.

    There is/was a WSO here that was selling an APP that would integrate email capture with the like button.

    Basically, when someone clicks the like button, a 'allow access?' box popped up and if they click 'allow', then you get the email.

    It is FB tos compliant that way.

    Don't feel like searching for the link for you, but you can search for it if you choose. (I'm lazy)

      If you have aweber there is in app to create a on opt in box on your site. You can offer your incentive in your opt in box and also put the call to action of liking the page at the same time.

      I like it because aweber has a tutorial to walk you through and it was super easy. Took me about 10 minutes.

      I've had a look and this is the closest WSO I could find:

      It integrates the "connect to facebook" button with the autoresponder (GREAT) but it doesn't seem to integrate it with the Like button

      Are you referring to a different WSO?

        That is the one I was thinking of. I must of mis-read it the first time. It looks like you get the email captured with the click of a button/link, but it isn't the like button, ust a regular button.

        So I guess you will have to 2-step it. Click like to reveal the 'free giveaway' (or whatever) then click here (and connect) to download your giveaway.
