And thanks for post with a breakdown of income sources - that should help those just getting started.

You bring up another interesting topic that might work for many, too - partnerships! (Does 'WSO' come immediately to mind?) This should spark renewed interest from those who just don't have enough time to do it alone, or those who can find someone with the skills they lack or lack confidence in themselves.

With WordPress and a good host, you can forget about all the geeky technical mumbo-jumbo and concentrate on your blog and sales funnel. If you're so inclined, you can tinker with the configuration inside WP 'til the cows come home!

Wow Amanda - really chuffed to hear about your success over the last month! Keep us posted about how things develop, as I'd love to know about your earnings in a few months time!

PS - I love Kindle publishing as a means of bringing in passive income. Yes, it's unlikely that you'll make huge amounts just from one book, but the cumulative effect is amazing!

The blog is around two months old but I only added adsense recently. Most of my traffic has come from WF but I have also done Squidoo lenses and EZA articles.

Honestly it surprised me too. I get around 50-150 views a day. It comes from EZA, Squidoo, WF, and I get a lot of people coming there from doing google searches about Constant Content. I had adsense on my other site that got around the same number of visitors but I only made about $15. And to be exact, it is $90 from that blog. $10 short of requesting a check.

A mix of hard work, taking action, and luck. Offering a service is a great way to get started. It is how I'm getting my seed money and also how I plan to make sure I'm always bringing in an income. Between clients I will be working on making streams of passive income, like the Kindle books and PLR store. I plan on setting up a WSO once I get a bunch of PLR content up and offering some free PLR articles.

The biggest thing I think helped me succeed is that I just jumped right in. I started posting the day I got here and started asking questions. Within a few days I had my first domain and started building my website. I put up my Warriors for Hire thread and offered some half price articles and got some great reviews. I also made sure I had backup plans like Textbroker because I knew I needed to make enough money to keep my hosting paid for. Before anything I made sure to earn $30 on Textbroker so that if I didn't do well I could still cover my hosting.

Great job Amanda! I think it's great what you're doing and a lot of people can learn from it. It can be a simple process making money online if you offer your services along with trying to build up your own websites.

Amanda...

Congrats! Your tenacity as well as your willingness to try different things will pay off for you in spades. I think in a relatively short period of time you've figured out what works best for you as well as what you're passionate about.

When I first started, I was all over the board and yet I clearly focused on the winning methods and doubled up on them.

Definitely keep track of your time and how you spend it. Take the next few days and time log your activities in 15 or 30 minute increments. You'll be amazed by how you spend your time as well as how to be more efficient at those tasks that are yielding you the best return for your time.

You are definitely on your way so the key now is to grow your monthly sales! Keep up the great momentum!

  Just a question. Do you have little ones? If you do, where do you find the extra time. I too do all of my work, but I have to stay up late after everyone is in bed, before I can find the time to work right now.
  
  Just curious. If you have a system for when to work and how you fit it in, that could help other mothers that feel they can't do this.
  
  My system does not work for everyone. It works for me because I have insomnia and don't sleep much anyway. LOL

@Amanda - $100 in AdSense. You seem genuine and everything but this seems completely unfeasible. I've got a site getting roughly 50 uniques/day and over the past 18 months it's earned about $50 with AdSense (good positioned ads too).

I've also heard so many people complain about earning peanuts with AdSense despite heavy, targeted traffic. I don't want to be rude but, have you inflated this a little?

Hey Amanda! Wer'e in the same boat! I'm still waiting for my month of hosting renewal and i am at about 410$, working from home! It's great extra income for a student

Unfortunately Textbrokers is only for US residents, i am thinking of applying to Demandmedia Studios ( have you tried them?) they look professional!

The downside to what you are doing is it is not scalable. It's a whole lot of work for a very low return.

A typical job that paid $7.75 an hour would generate $310 a week. So you need to focus on things that can scale. Otherwise you are just working for less than minimum wage.

I would like to say thank you to everyone on WF for helping me on my way to success. I've spent years as a housewife. Cooking, cleaning, baking, but never bringing in any money. Having IM to bring in my own income has given me such a huge boost in self confidence and has given my family a much stronger sense of financial security. This has been life changing and I have the members of WF to thank for it.

I hope to give some inspiration to those struggling to start earning money. Don't give up, it feels so worth it when the money comes in. Nothing feels better than knowing that I will be able to stay home with my children and still help keep us financially secure.

So once again, thank you WF. You guys are amazing. This forum is such a wealth of information and wonderful people.

Would anyone else like to share some success stories or discuss things they are having problems with? While I focus on writing, I have read about many aspects of IM so I will help all I can.

My congratulations to you. It seems that you have a strategy that really works. As per other warriors' advise, I too encourage you to fine tune that strategy and rinse it again and again.

WOW nice job! You don't sit around and wait for things to happen. That is very good for your first month! I held my brothers hand and walked him through everything and he made about $500 in his first month. Now he is pulling in over $5000 just like me and he only started in January.

For the people asking about adsense, like I said, it was actually closer to $90.

As for how long I spent working... if I really focus I can get 2 articles done an hour on a niche I know a lot about. I only work writing for a few hours a day. I do not have kids of my own yet, trying still, but I do always have little ones running around. It helps that they can play with each other. I have a laptop so I can work outside while they are outside. I work in little gaps like when they are sleeping, busy playing, or eating.

I also work hard with time management for my home chores. Things like cooking as much as I can on Sunday. I cook everything that can be pre-cooked on Sunday so it is easy to make meals through the week. I pick one or two chores for each day of the week. Tuesday and Friday I mop all of the floors. Wednesday and Saturday I do laundry. Things like that.

And for the passive income... yes, I know I need to work on passive income. That is my next step. I am unable to work a full time job so this is more money than I've made in a month in years. I do not always have clients so I am going to be working on passive income between clients.

Hi, I am new here, in fact this is my first post. Congratulation Amanda, You are very lucky to get that sort of income in your first month. I say lucky because when others, start on IM, they might be doing something that is not profitable for quite sometimes. Testing everything offered by the gurus. Unlike you, Amanda, you went straight to do business which is within your experience, knowledge and ability.

I for my self took more than a year until I finally do some profitable online business, one that I give a really well thought plan and extra hard working effort that finally paid off. You can read about my real experience with my link in my signature. Don't worry, this is just info on how I start my business and not my sales page. (I put some CB links that I really bought to assist me with that business.)

I hope some of you here at Warrior Forum will share with me your own success story. I will be glad to learn from the Pro's here.

Oh, and since I was just asked.

Things I bought:

Hosting - 1 cent for the first month of Hostgator. Found them to be excellent.
3 Domains - The WAHM site in my sig, my writing portfolio, and my PLR shop. All purchased through Namecheap.
War Room - Way worth the money if only for the extra PM space. There are also tons of great WSOs in there for free. I got one about publishing on the Kindle I found particularly useful.
Warrior for Hire Thread - Posted and bumped once. It was how I found most of my clients.
WSOs - Everyone keeps asking if I bought any WSOs. I bought my first today and it was Peggy's WSO about selling PLR. I didn't even get War Room until recently.

For someone just starting out... you only need around $10, $30 if you are wanting to post a Warrior for Hire thread. A domain is around $9, less if you get a .info or use a good godaddy coupon. First month of hosting from Host Gator is only one cent, $7 after that. I use GetResponse for my autoresponder. They have a free account that you can upgrade later when you have more subscribers, or Aweber is only $1 for the first month.

If you are looking at WSOs... look at all of your free material first. For sure, get War Room access before any WSOs. There is so much information in there that is way worth the price. It is like getting tons of WSOs for the price of one.

Awesome, and inspiring I am a really fresh newbie.. Just and old fart trying to get something going so i can set myself and family up for retirement.. Have a long learning curve ahead of me as I am not familiar with most of the tools required, especially how to setup a domain and use this wordpress etc.. but am excited to get going.. So once again, thank you WF. You guys are amazing. This forum is such a wealth of information and wonderful people.

Would anyone else like to share some success stories or discuss things they are having problems with? While I focus on writing, I have read about many aspects of IM so I will help all I can.

Your results are simply awesome and I congratulate you!! The one thing that I would really encourage you to focus on is to create more online assets that generate passive income for you, so you don't have to always work to make profits. One way to do this is to take some of the profits you are making now and invest them into building niche websites.

This is the approach that I've taken and its working quite well for me. I share a bunch of my lessons on my blog. Link in my sig.

That's great Amanda,
What I get out of what you've done is your persistance and the knowledge that you have to work at this thing called IM.
There's way too many offers out there that promise a fortune without having to do anything to get it. They give legitimate online businesses a bad name.

... to all newbies still struggling: stock up on some elbow grease and get to work!

Love to hear stories like this. If people would stop with the get rich quick stuff they wouldn't complain here every other day. Remember, 80% of the effort is going to get 20% of the results when you start out... its a slow and (sometimes) painful process.

But once you get a grip on what needs to be done, it's a like a greased downhill slide.

I recommend you get your own website up, start playing around with auto-responders and other IM'er gadgets until you're confident enough to roll out with your own products or even expand your service business.

That is fantastic work, absolutely well done! That must have required a fair bit of legwork to achieve $100 on adsense on a new site with no prior knowledge so quickly. I really commend you; and what's more multiple sources of income!

Well done.

What I 'tip my hat' to you for is the fact that you haven't lost yourself in get rich quick programs or push button software.

You stuck to methods that work - blogging, writing, clients. Well done for keeping it simple and beautifully effective.

Why not use some of your income to outsource and begin to scale hngs up?
