does anyone know how i can get cheap wordpress hosting??

    I believe you can host it on Wordpress server itself free of charge.

    But i would highly suggest you grab the "Baby" Plan over at Hostgator. Very fast host and 24/7 support all for less than $10 a month.

      You can have a free blog at wordpress.COM but that's useless for marketing purposes: read their TOS - no commercial use is allowed.

      Stop spreading misleading information!

      Download the free script from wordpress.ORG - and install it on your own hosting with your own domain. That's the way to go if you want to own your blog.

        I had NO intention of spreading misleading information.

        In regards to the above, it was clearly a very small error (.com to .org) and i was personally unaware of the TOS as i have never had to do this myself.

        I was quoting information that i heard through the grapevine , and luckily it turned out that the OP was looking for paid hosting after all.

        Just to clarify, i was unaware of the TOS regarding this and did not wish to maliciously use these to potentially harm the OP in the future.

        And in regards to "Stop spreading misleading information", can you please tell me where else i have been distributing misleading information?

          And you don't think that's spreading misinformation? IME, the "grapevine" is notoriously wrong most of the time.

          You've got to check these thing for yourself - including the TOS - before you make a fool of yourself recommending them.

          No real harm done, Josh. Simply an invaluable lesson to learn.

      Its definitely Less Than $10 per month, I believe the baby plan is like $7..

    WordPress is just the blogging platform used to manage a website. It is available to the public for free.

    When choosing your web hosting, make sure it supports WordPress. Almost all do nowadays. I recommend HostGator for their low price and quality service.

    If by 'cheap' you mean a free host that supports Wordpress, try Awardspace, although I think they still don't use cPanel.

    You can also get it for free from some hosting providers but they have lots of restrictions regarding bandwidth, disk space etc. Better go with a paid hosting such as hostgator.

    cool thanks, im planning to make my first small profit from this site, once i start making some profit, im gonna just rinse and repeat, thats why im looking at the cheapest cost for now, so i can build...i gotta make that investment back

    Just get one hosting account at hostgator and host all your domains on it. As your domains increase, it'll be cheaper and cheaper per domain.

    Hostgator makes it easy to upgrade and move your sites to beefier hosting plans when they grow.

      Keep away from wordpress.com for the reason mentioned above by Istvan!

      You can get reliable, professional, high-quality free hosting at byethost.com, and you can host Wordpress (from wordpress.org) on it, as many marketers have done successfully, some of them for many years ... as long as you can work out how to install it. (There's free advice available online).

    I use brainhost upgraded high-performance servers. You have to be concerned with how fast your sites are served. It's still cheap and unlimited number of domains, just faster than hostgator by about 10x.

    FWIW and getting back to the OP, I've been very happy with bluehost - current special is US$3.50/month until May 31st according to the popup - free domain name, unlimited domains/bandwidth/disk space.

    You'll have to compare the current prices and what's included, but I think the normal pricing for 2 years at bluehost is roughly equivalent to hostgator's 3 year plan, or about a dollar a month cheaper on their 2 year plan, and I don't recall whether hostgator included the first domain name free or not.

    It does pay to shop around! But not beyond the handful that you've heard recommended just because they're cheaper. All the hosts recommended here will have demonstrated performance and support which you may or may not get elsewhere. Caveat emptor - and all that.

    Incidentally, I've botched a few installs of WordPress on bluehost and managed to recover nicely with a delete and fresh install and without a lot of fuss and bother; I know the same can be same of hostgator as well.

    The latest version of WP (3.1.2) seems to be more robust and is stable enough for production, so any additional plugins you want to add will probably work fine right out of the zip file. The six I've uploaded worked perfectly.
