FTC policies are bothering me.

Hi guys!

I don't understand FTC policies very clearly as I am not very good at English. I don't understand how to write my disclosure and disclaimer section on my websites. I do product reviews, make niche websites to promote both amazon and clickbank products. Please help me write these two sections:

Currently, I have written this in my Disclosure page:

"Some of the links on this site are affiliate links and I will earn a commission if you purchase the product through them."

And I have written this on my Disclaimer Page:

"Please note that the products mentioned and recommended on this site are the personal choice and opinion of the owner of this website. Your opinion might differ and thus your choice. Always do a thorough research before buying something online."

Please guide me through how to write my disclosure and disclaimers section of my websites to be in total compliance with FTC terms. Also, if someone is found to be not in compliance with FTC policies, are they sued to death?

Can I just copy and paste the whole of it on my website and name that page as "Affiliate Disclaimer". I don't need any other disclosure or disclaimer policy if I put this on my site, right?

Just make sure to put in your personal info instead of theirs if you're going to copy and paste.

Depending on what you are selling, any claims you may be making, and even who you are affiliating with, you may also need an earnings disclaimer, a privacy policy and/or a TOS page, as well. For instance, Amazon's TOS #10 states:

"You must, however, clearly state the following on your site: “[Insert your name] is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com'."

You could just include that on your Affiliate Disclaimer page, though. If I remember correctly, I believe Adsense requires a privacy policy page.

Your best bet is to always the read the TOS for each affiliate program you utilize, as they will usually specify what is required.
