How Do You Report Someone for Spam??

Hi all,

I've never really tried to report anyone for blatant spamming before, just clicked the 'report spam' button in my gmail when I got obvious stuff like requests to deposit a million dollars from someone overseas and stuff, but I want to now and am wondering if anyone knows how to do it effectively.

I was an affiliate for a marketer that ended up keeping my commissions - I cancelled my affiliate account and unsubscribed from all lists associated with that person. I still receive mail from him almost every day and the unsubscribe links don't work.

I get so much email in general that normally I would just delete it and carry on, but it's irritating to no end that after ripping me off I continue to get stuff from him that violates the spam act.

I've routed it to trash through my email account anyway, but I guess I'm just holding a grudge because I'd really like to report it properly....

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Tina

spam activity is very disrupt. I think if you follow a lot of affiliates or any other activity, I suggest to create a special email for each program and a good idea to reduce subscription activity if it is not too important. Better to prevent than to cure such spam activities. maybe that's my simple opinion. anyone would like to add?

If the emails are coming from a mainstream mailing list provider you could contact them and complain.

If the marketer is hosting his own mailing script then you could try complaining to his web host.

Not sure what else you can do.

Thanks for your help....since they use their own hosted autoresponder service I checked whois, found their host and reported it to them. I'll also send a copy of the email to spam@uce.gov!
Hope I don't sound like a crazy person with a vendetta or anything - the overall situation just rubbed me the wrong way to say the least!
