True or False: Is Social Media is cracking down on affiliate marketers?

    I don't keep my finger on the pulse of what FB is doing. But everything
    I've read, so far, is affiliate marketing is going strong at FB. Youtube's
    made changes re links since 'they' bought them. But that's nothing new.

    Do you have recent news?

    • Honestly Ken,
      I saw a recently post in WF about a supposed crackdown by Social media sites. I had also heard such things in posts in the past. Also some CPA offers frown on the use of myspace to promote products.

      Just need to confirm whether there was some truth in it or whether its been blown out of proportion or perhaps downright untrue?

  • I think social media is actually a good promotional tool. However, how you do it. Your products must be purchased by those who need. So, how you find those who need? Maybe it's my opinion.
  • Every web site that allows you to publish content like social media sites, article directories, open blogs, etc, wants you to deliver the best quality content. Spamming these resources with promotional offers is annoying and makes their system look like crap.

    They are cracking down on those that do affiliate marketing the wrong way. Don't allow your content you publish in these areas to be commercialized. Provide your readers with some helpful advice or something of value and direct them to a website that does the selling.

    It's too often you see someone trying to make a quick buck by sending me a personal message on Facebook that directly promotes some crap I'm not even remotely interested in. This type of thing is what they crack down on.

  • SENukeX is great at distributing links to lots of social media sites that then link back to IM sites. They probably don't like that : )
