should a newbie enter this niche...??

I have been getting started trying to make money online for about half a year now. I have managed to make about $600 promoting an affiliate product on one blog, and by writing some articles. The blog is in a non- "money making" niche that I am very knowledgeable about.

I have a domain name I bought right after I discovered IM. It has been sitting there because I have no desire of being in the making money niche. I have recently decided to create a simple blog on the domain with the hopes of selling it in a few months. The site would target a specific group of people looking to make some extra money. My question is: being a newbie and not great with seo, would I be able to develop a site in this niche that would be able to sell, or is it too competitive? Thanks again for any advice or suggestions.

If you think something is too competitive, you will always fail and just keep waiting for stuff to happen.

I suggest the BringTheFresh course and looking at the SEO part for tips on how to rank even in a highly competitive niche.

A better question is, since you are a newbie, are you willing to do whatever it takes to learn how to develop your site to profitability?

Regarding the niche being too competitive, have you ever wondered why a particular niche is competitive? It’s because that’s where all the customers are. You see, contrary to popular belief, it really doesn’t matter how saturated or over-crowded a niche is. You can still make money, if you’re a professional.

If you know what you’re doing, and execute your marketing strategy properly, there are plenty of customers to go around. You see, it’s how well you position yourself within a particular niche that will determine your success or failure. It’s all about differentiating yourself from your competitors. That’s Marketing 101.

You have to clearly explain to people what makes you different and/or better than your competitors. Then, you have to exploit those differences consistently. So, don’t run away from a crowded niche, embrace it. The Internet Marketing pie is plenty big enough for everybody.

Disclaimer: I am also a newb, so don't take my opinion too much under consideration.

From what I've been reading, blogs are a great way to create a residual income, build your mailing lists, and meet other marketers. That being said, I think it wouldn't be the best choice to simply build it up and hold onto it, and instead of sell it once it starts making headway. You never know how much money you could make with the blog, or how valuable it may become to your business.

But another side of me wants to ask you this, if you already have a niche that you are very knowledgeable in, and your blog is currently making you money, why bother diving into another niche? Maybe keep growing your current blog and when it tops out, then look into the money making niche.

I hear the money making niche is already quite crowded, if you can become the top person of your current niche with the substantial knowledge you have, I'd say it's better to be King of one niche, rather a Duke in a couple niches.

But that's just my opinion! Looking forward to your reply.

Thanks everyone. Anything I decide to do, I am always willing to put in the work. That is why I wanted to know if it would be worth putting in all the work or not. I am going to continue on my site that is currently making a bit. I hope to eventually make it a very popular blog in the niche. I am just ready to expand my efforts in IM and thought I would try flipping a site. The reason I would like to flip it is becausw I really want my efforts to be concentrated on my other site for the long run, so i don't want to have numerous sites that take a lot of up keep. Thanks for the suggestions!

Being a newbie, it's doesn't matter what type of niche you want to do. As long as you want it and you know how to manage it. You should focus on what you want. Seek help from experts, find the best guide and best ways to promote your niche.

you can have a mini site, and if you think you're bad at SEO, why don't just use other people's list to get targeted traffic from? Build your website, get traffic from other people's list and make money. Don't you think it'll be a good idea for this niche?

    It is.
