I'm selling a big video product - who is best host?

Hi warriors

I am about ready to sell a big video course and the downloads are about 700 megs. In theory this could be expensive for me to host due to large bandwidth needed for all the downloads. Plus i am pricing it cheaply so should sell a decent volume.

So where should I host this and how much is it likely to cost me? I assume amazon s3 would be a good option?

Any advice gratefully received.

Many thanks

Fraser

You should probably look into getting a dedicated server if you're really expecting a lot of bandwidth.

Maybe look into Amazon AWS they handle a lot of stuff like this for a fair price

      • Without a doubt use Amazon S3. It is free to sign up and you only pay for bandwidth used. This is a dirt cheap way to host your videos. If you need some help with this let me know as I just finished setting up with Amazon S3 using easy video player.

As has been said before, Amazon S3 has got to be one of (if not) the best out there!

Start off with a VPS as it's generally cheaper than dedicated hosting, then upgrade to a dedicated server as your bandwidth use increases.

As you're in the UK, I'd choose a UK based hosting company to keep things straightforward (payment in Sterling, UK legal compliance etc.) and one that offers dedicated servers as well as VPS so they can handle all the migration their end.
