I Just Cant Get Over 200 Unique Vistors Per Day

I started a blog in january 2011. I am a newbie and trying to market my site as best as i can. I posted to article directories, social networks, a bit of ppc etc etc .But for some reason i am still not able to get as much traffic to my site as i would like.

The most unique visits i have ever gotten in a day were 236.
yesterday i got 170 and today i am on the path of getting less.

My Blog have really been a up and down roller coaster. I'm trying so hard, i have even put my social life aside to do more work online. Some times i feel like selling my blog and give up. Never the less working for my self is my dream and that's why i chose Internet marketing however at times i am amazed by the work and effort that is needed to be successful online.

Please be honest and share with me what have you done to increase your sites traffic the most?

Your traffic for starting your blog in Jan. 2011 is good. I wouldn't despair. Keep at it. I've been at it much longer and don't get more than 500 unique visitors per day (which I'm pretty happy about, but of course want more).

The high-traffic blogs just kept at it publishing killer content. Do that and some promotion and your traffic will grow.

Getting traffic is always an issue. And the make-money-online niche is HIGHLY competitive.

Be sure you know exactly who your target audience is. I've found that clarity is a HUGE factor in getting results.

Aside from that, I'd recommend Kim Roach's Traffic Dashboard. You can see the information for it here: Traffic Dashboard I bought it and am still working my way through it, but I like it a lot because it's about getting traffic to your site TODAY. Yes, it still takes time to build up the traffic, but it's not about SEO or other factors that can take forever to show results or that you have no control over (like Google's algorithms).

And it's only $40. Not a bad investment. I've gotten rather sick of traffic products that charge a huge sum of money. Yes, traffic is important and products and services need to be priced according to their value. But still...

        Hope that helps!

        Michelle

P.S. I'm in no way associated with Kim or Traffic Dashboard. I just like the info and thought it might help you too.

I agree and know that solo ads , key word rich articles after doing keyword research is key. Never give up as 2 years ago I was making about $10 a month online lol. Then 50 then hundreds. Now from 2500-4000 a month every single month. Yes FTC I have proof haha. But anyhow I know that you must not quit unless you wanna be a statistic. 97% quit and the 3% continue forward my friend!

I think the font for article text is too small, and there is too much noise going on, severely decreasing the chances people will actually read your content. On my laptop monitor, I only see the first two lines of the first article above the fold. It seems your blog is not about content, but rather has too many other bells and whistles that are not helping you. That's my advice. Can you help me too and take a look at my blog?

Yes, people search for information not advertising. Give them something of value and they will love you. Be helpful and instead of thinking why you can't get over that amount think how you can get over. I'm sure you will soon get what you want.

I took a quick look at your site and just in three minutes, I found a number of issues that might be holding you back, the first thing I noticed is that you have four separate instances of Google Analytic's code being parsed in your initial page.

You might benefit from a premium theme, (bleeding juice from the footer)

You want readers, and clickers, you have far too much advertising sometimes less is more, )

I hate to say it, but this is yet another case of "Beginner Marketer promoting to Beginner Marketers".

    The Problem:
The entire problem you are having is the niche you are in. There are uncountable numbers of keywords you could target for the Work From Home / Make Money Online / Internet Marketing niche, but you can bet they are all going to have a good amount of competition.
For example. You walk into a restaurant to get breakfast. You order a basic plate of eggs, bacon, and toast. The eggs are burnt, the bacon is undercooked, and the toast looks like it was cut off the loaf with a chainsaw. When you ask why the food is so poor, the waiter just says "He just started, and is learning how to cook."
Do you think you are going to go back to that place? Most likely not. Now look at your website from the perspective of your readers. They too, are beginner marketers. They have most likely purchased a few WSO or eBooks from other marketing forums. They might know the same basics that you do, they may know more. Is your website really helping anyone?

    The Solution:
Take what you have learned from your current blog, and use that knowledge to create a website in a different niche.

    Advice:
I would set your website up slightly different. If you are going for AdSense, keep doing what your doing. If you promote something from Clickbank or Amazon for example, you should think about using 'Pages' that will promote the product you want. Then you can write informational articles, targeting keywords with a good amount of traffic and weak competition, and direct those visitors to your product pages.
Make sure to use your Header tags (H1, H2, H3). Make sure there is a link to another page on your site within the article (not just the sidebar, header, etc). Bold/Italics/Underline targeted keywords. These are some basic SEO things to aim for.
Target 'posts' with your backlinks, using the articles keywords as your link text. Targeting the pages helps you rank for that keyword, which will drive traffic through your keyword article to your sales pages.
    **Edit**
I did a search to see what you had indexed. Your posts are labelled online-career.com/2011/02/page/4/ which doesn't help your ranking for keywords. To fix this, go to your WP admin page, and click Settings, then Permalinks. Click Custom Structure, and in the text box type /%postname%/. This will put your article title as the post name, which puts your keyword in your url.
If you add /%postname%/ in your settings, you may need to go through each article and edit that link. To allow WordPress to use /%postname%/ you can click the Edit button for the posts permalink, and just delete the entire line. When you click Save, WordPress will automatically use the title for the post name.
OR, You could go through each post and create a custom name for it. This can be done on the newpage/edit screen. Just under the title you will see Permalink, the name of the url that will be created, and an Edit button. Put 2 and 2 together, and I'm sure you can figure this one out.

The hardest part is over. You have already started. Now take what you have learned and put it into a niche that you can get loads of traffic from. Keep testing, and keep learning. It's not worth starting over to learn a job you may hate, working for someone else...

    Best of luck to you.

    Good: Content is solid.

Bad: Too many ads is instant turnoff. Readers don't know where to focus their attention.

Ugly: Don't like the template at all. Like someone else said, go and pay $40 for a nice crisp Premium Template.

Best advice: Buy a keyword program like Market Samurai, reasearch the niches you are focusing on and find the long-tailed phrases that are untapped with little competition. Every new article needs to focus on those keyword phrases and you will get traffic I guarantee. I'd suggest a popover signup form as well but some might disagree.

      Nicholas,

You traffic is not bad, sometime you can increase your traffic by just optimize you blog content in other words provide more informative information by writing the solution to people problem, that can be done by doing some keyword research within your niche.

For example "how to" keyword and incorporate your blog post with twitter and facebook like button plugin. You never know if your content is good enough people willingly to click "Like" or "tweet" thus it give more exposure to your blog.

Hope this simple tips help :-)

You don't have to worry about the traffic of your site. You started last January and the traffic is quite good. Focus on promoting your site at social media like Facebook and Twitter. Both are best in promoting a site.

200/day is reasonably good traffic to start with. It doesn't matter how much traffic you get but how much quality converting traffic you get. Before running, you need to learn to walk. Im sure you will be running like pros soon.

    When in doubt... start networking.

Your best bet to pass this hurdle is to realize that your blog isn't the only on this particular niche. Find others like minded bloggers and start collaborating. Guest posts, feedback, comments and the list could go on.

Strangely enough, the best tool to go around for this is... Twitter. It genuinely sucks as a marketing tool, but as a networking one... it rocks.

Start making friends and carve a place for yourself. The traffic will undoubtedly follow.

    Hope this helps.
