Let me start from myself.

my first sale was from cj [commission junction] affiliate promotion. It came through 3 articles i submitted to EZ article directory.

I earned $18 from the commission sales of the product.
I was so happy, i screamed loudly at the public cafe [yes i haven't gotten a laptop then]... everybody there were wondering if i have gone nut.

oh no, i would forget that day.

How did you earn you first money online?

If possible, Please tell us how it happened?

Thank You.

The first time I made money online it was through promoting Salehoo on Clickbank through article marketing.

After refreshing my browser 1,000 times a day, it was like hitting the jackpot when I finally saw the sales bar move to the right!

Back then it was all about bum marketing keyword phrases and then directly linking to my affiliate page on EzineArticles.

I no longer promote ClickBank products or use EzineArticles since my approach has completely changed, but looking back, it's interesting to see how your methods evolve with you!

The first money I made online was six years ago...

I used to make a couple hundred bucks a month just doing this, no list, no site, nothing...

I would use adwords to send people directly to clickbank sales pages...

Google doesn't even allow this anymore, lol.

I earned my first 110$ when I sold a link to a webmaster on my PR3 site. I was excited so excited. I am very grateful to money as I invested it buying few domains and PLR's which made me money.

The interesting part is, that was 7 months ago, and I am still using those PLR's (95 article pack and more than 50% still left to work on) ..lolzz.

I made my first dollars "online" by actually selling advertisement space to local "offline" businesses. Ran a community site that featured video and photo highlights of events in my town.

I'll never forget that first check--it was an amazing feeling. To say I was hooked would be an understatement.

Going strictly online my first $100 payment from Adsense came just four weeks after I started. I made it with one site that talked about women's high heels. Then I discovered affiliate marketing, and the rest (as they say) was history!

  • If I don't include my gaming, I'd have to say when I was doing MLM, the first adwords campaign I did landed me a 125$ commission. Despite that success, I never really scaled my efforts up back then.

And I was getting Leads signing-up by the dozens! I still to this day receive affiliate cheques from Aweber from people who signed up to the system I used to funnel my MLM prospects. It's roughly around 50$, nothing major but gives me a smile every-time I receive it

This was last summer.. I've been into internet marketing & SEO for less than one year and a quite original idea came to me - to sell templates for Facebook fan pages.

Luckily I had a friend who was much more experienced in IM and ecommerce and we've launched a site together. Surprisingly we got our first sale because I've pitched someone on Twitter, this was within a few weeks since the site was launched. This little sale literally blew my mind and the way I look at things!

My first sale earned me $1.63 in Amazon affiliate commissions. That was back a ways now and since then, I've made many more sales.

To get it, I built a niche website and used SEO to get my traffic. I now have many niche sites and still use SEO.

I write about how I do it on my blog, and also have a course. Links are in the sig file.

I also have a WSO running right now.

My story is an atypical one.

My first money came when I created a product and sold it via product launch. I gathered my JV partners through Twitter networking.

Right time. Right place. God's timing. I made 5 figures in around 2 weeks when I sent the last launch email.

The reason I went though all that trouble? I had a wedding in 2 months to finance. The cool thing was by the time we got back from our honeymoon we made enough to pay back our honeymoon as well.

      Honestly?

About seven years ago, typed in 'how to make money online' to Google. (See? Everybody has to start somewhere). Found out about affiliate marketing. Chose a company and a product to promote. Signed up as an affiliate. Built a small website. Pointed PPC traffic at it. Ka-ching! It was A LOT, LOT easier back then.....

My journey over the seven years has taken to me running a software company with solutions for other online marketers.

Didn't know where I'd end up when I started out that day, just knew I didn't like my job and wanted to make more money. Am happy with where I have ended up. Hope others get to enjoy the journey and find their destination in the end - wherever it might be.

My gut instinct was to say that I made my first money online as a web-host back in 2002 or so, but that isn't entirely true.

A couple of years prior to that I was running an informational site, as a hobby, for the DarkBASIC programming language, and had slapped up a few Amazon affiliate-link widgets around the site.

Truth be told, I didn't anticipate making any sales; I just thought, for some strange reason, that the links made the site look a little more authoritative.

So you can imagine my surprise a couple of months later when I logged in to my Amazon Associates account and discovered I'd made several sales.

Because I'd have been investing my time into building that site purely for enjoyment, I didn't consider any of it as 'work' and the money was just an awesome unforeseen bonus. Essentially, I saw it as free money (or money for nothing).

Back then I had no idea about SEO. The only method I knew of for harnessing traffic was to leave links/banners on other sites that I assumed other like-minded people were already visiting. Of that I did very little, myself. I actually received a lot of free natural links from others linking to my tutorials and free downloads from community forums and the like.

    And it was that simple.

Holy crap, I haven't heard about DarkBASIC in forever.

It's hard to say what the first money I made online was. In 1978, someone mailed me cash to send him a cassette tape with some programs on it, so he didn't have to download them at 1200 baud. But while the deal was made online, neither the money nor the product were delivered online. So maybe that doesn't count.

Somewhere from there to the $18 commission I made from some Twitter product on Clickbank in 2009, you'll find the first money I ever made online. It just all depends on how you define it.

I earned my first money about a decade ago when I was in my early teens doing Paid Surveys. Not something I'm proud of considering I figured out how to lie the right way about who I was so that I'd get a lot of survey's but I did manage to make money that was good for me being that age. However even being that young and randomly clicking radio buttons on the surveys to get through them as quickly as possible, I found it quite tedious for little money (BTW anyone who says you can make $XX an hour filling out surveys is a straight up lier lol).

I then parlayed that money on HYIPs and AutoSurfers, really wish I had stayed away from that and put more effort into affiliate marketing though.

I made my first money online from ebay about 10 years ago. I used to publish an offline home business magazine and sold copies at £1 each. I would put 10 at a time on buy now and mail a copy out to each of the buyers. Those sales didn't make a profit, but enough of the buyers paid to subscribe or advertise in the magazine or both to make it quite lucrative.

I actually don't remember how I made my very first money online. It might have been on eBay as I had an eBay business for a while.

I'm pretty sure I made my first affiliate sales using Adwords (didn't have a clue how to generate traffic any other way), and I lost money doing that, so I suppose it doesn't really count.

I made my first 'proper' money with niche blogs in 2007 and I went full time online that same year. I also did alot of site flipping (it was really easy to sell blogs without traffic or income back then).

The first money i made was through promoting a clickbank product. I found a video on youtube about muscle building that had 3 million views and rising. I noticed the owner of the video did not have an existing link in the video description. I contacted the owner and asked him to put my clickbank affiliate link (to a muscle building program) in the video description, in return for a percentage of the sale. Within 1 week my link was clicked 700 times and i made 10 sales, making me around $200

Been banging my balls in info niches that are not profitable at all or that I didn't know well enough and didn't have enough money to outsource producing content. So the whole few months were spending going back and forth with what to do with my traffic plans.

Then, someone shook me hard and told me that with physical products sell well too and the key to people with a budget and when starting up is to choose niche and keywords that you can win... fast. (it's not exactly fast, i took 1 month)

So with that, I followed his advice in his product and boom, 1 month later the first sales came by 15.90. And i woke up the next morning thinking that the next sale will come 1 week later.

But i check it in to see another 10 more sales of varying commission. That was what I called orgasmic feeling lol

    thanks
    junior

I was so happy, i screamed loudly at the public cafe [yes i haven't gotten a laptop then]... everybody there were wondering if i have gone nut.

oh no, i would forget that day.

How did you earn you first money online?

If possible, Please tell us how it happened?

    Thank You.

My first internet money came via ebay sales a few years back. I am still an ebay seller and move stock almost everyday but the charges run away with most of the profit.

My first ever online profit was from selling a ClickBank product via AdWords. Didn't really know what I was doing, but thought I should just get started doing SOMETHING and see if anything sticks. I was surprised to get a sale fairly quickly. But alas, the cost of AdWords campaigns was more than I could handle as a newbie.

My first money made was selling on EBAY. Best proffit was $10500.00

Of course that was only real big score and it was selling off a Car I traded for a dead car I couldn't get a dime for

Otherwise I get money from Adsence from my Youtube account. Remember getting .10 or so and then one day $15. Once I broke a $100 in one month but that was only once...

    Hi there
Amazing how many different ways that have worked for people.
I suppose the most successful will be those that have kept it up and scaled up the procedure to keep the momentum up!

I sold a few things on ebay to get some cash in the bank and have made some money using video marketing too which once set up has served me well!

Do what you love and stick at it and you won't go too far wrong!

Mine was from odesk.com as freelance web developer at about $300 within 3 weeks, I was happen then but I didn't considered it as my earning with less effort because it was totally like a dead working on it until midnight. Anyway that's my schedule. I earn money online with less effort was on bukisa.com. I wrote 5 articles there and I let it be there, I didnt promote it and after a year when I realized to try to go back in online business. They send me $7. Well, not big bucks but from there, I can prove that you can make residual income online. And now i'm continuing my journey in online business.

I made my first affiliate sale 3-4 years back after reading Andrew Hansen's Niche Marketing on Crack. It was a software and it was paid in Sterling Pounds. I can't remember how much it was.

First online money I made was a "How To Skinning Kit" showing people how to produce skins for the DotNetNuke portal. I included templates and instructions, not too many graphics, and it sold for nearly a year at $1500 per month with a small monthly update. It was not subscription based. Most of the people selling skins for DotNetNuke learned how to do it using my kit.

I made my first money online around 2008, I consider myself a late-bloomer in the business though, lol. I earn $12 for writing 5 articles around 300 - 500 word in it. It is my first batch of articles that I wrote and, of course, was very happy when my client sent the payment through my PayPal. Although it wasn't that much, but it really motivates me to improve and do better on my writing skills as at present, I am still writing articles to clients.
I could say that my first 5 articles aren't that considered a top quality since I was just given 24 hours to finish the article. But the good news that made me happy was I was earning some money from it.

Mine was probably a $50 commission for a satellite dish firm. I was so excited I thought I was a guru. I had never even of article marketing, forum posting, blogging etc.

I think I sold it through my blackplanet.com fan page. It was a pseudo pay per lead scheme.

I think I then sold Richjerk

I purchased a package of resell right products for $197. I repacked them, changed the copy and converted into a full blown DVD package.

I sold the initial digital version and it made me my first $24.95, KATCHING!

Then I used that pack in a lot more different ways, created membership sites, DVD physical packages and lots more and setup another site to make me $20,000+

    It was a wonderful experience...

The first bit of money made for me was selling on eBay. My wife, a neighbor and myself were going to auctions and selling the stuff on eBay. It made me some really good money for awhile. Then in 1998 i was at home recovering from cancer treatments when I noted all these little sayings on the bottom of some webpages that said "Webmasters - Click Here to Make Money!".

The rest is history...I've been building ever since!

Excellent thread. As a WF newbie... I thank you. Would love to hear from some people who just started recently, and what kind of traction you are getting.

My first money was a month ago. It was a clickbank product with Facebook PPC. I earned $200 in one month, with one product. And it only cost me $500 in PPC. Needs work I think. (Buy low, sell high... I keep getting that mixed up)

Has anybody been successful out of the box with systems that promise... "Make money in 15 Minutes", or "Tomorrow," or "In One Week..."
