INTERNET MARKETING

Hi,
I know with blogger there is an optino that will allow you to keep the blog private. Can you do this with wordpress? I have a blog setup that is reserved for the people who subscribed but it has been crawled by google and comes up in some of my searches. I can always migrate it to the blogger blog and set it as private, but i prefer to keep wordpress and just block the crawling if possible.

Thanks!

Dennis

Hi Dennis,

I'm no expert on this but couldn't you just use a robots.txt file to stop Google crawling it?

  Nigel

  I'm interested in this too.

I thought of doing it the robots.txt way, but what exactly would it look like?

Would it just be something like:

  User-agent: *
  Disallow: /

  Thanks

  Hi,
I will try the privacy option. I have absolutely no idea how to do the robots.txt thing lol, you sound like an expert to me!:p

  Okay, I just did it.

Now will it take down the pages that have been indexed?

  Thanks

well i am pretty sure the privacy option does nothing else than creating a robots.txt....or adding the meta tags in the HTML....so its the same thing.
