Google News Sites still doing well?

And, do you think they will continue to do well? It seems the sites I have seen have no real content for the reader, maybe 250-300 word articles that are more of a teaser. I would think the reader would feel cheated if they need to go back into Google to search for additional news content on a topic.
Along these same lines, is it okay to put links to sites (including our own) for further info on a topic. For instance, if I do an article on a new treatment for diabetes, could I link back to my own diabetes related site?
Anyone know of a compilation of Google news sites by subject? Thanks.

    It is perfectly okay to add links.

    For me, Google news isn't doing well for me. The last few press releases that I submitted to Google got caught up in a bunch of other news sites and my website barely got any traffic.

    What you are talking about are " news autoblogs" not "google news sites". GN sites are doing well.
