Questions about creating Facebook Pages for others...

I have a couple questions about creating Facebook pages for paying customers please...

1) Do you create all those Facebook pages under your one personal account?

2) And if so, how would you transfer that Facebook page to a paying client so they can modify and maintain it without you?

Thanks
Steve

    Good questions Steve,

Typically I have seen the customer create their own page (as in clicking the create page link) and then assigning Admin rights to the builder/outsourcer. Then the outsourcer creates and sets up the fan page and the owner still has full access.

I was wondering the same thing though, as I came across some business owners who do not have a Facebook account at all and don't want one.

So in that case, I am just setting them up myself, all under my account. If they ever want access, they can sign up and I will add them as admin.

This way seems a little better as far as retention goes, as they are paying me (you) to maintain their account. If they stop paying, you can still maintain the site list for yourself.

(Nothing shady of course, it will all be drawn out in the contract).

We have a side company called *|* FbFandamonium – increase facebook likes | buy facebook friends | get fans on facebook page | targeted facebook fans where we make pages, add likes etc....and usually we just ask for admin rights or access to their fb account, install the HOSTED IFRAME app, throw the html in and we are on our way...

You can create the page for them and then you just make them an Admin and remove yourself.

Thanks for responding to my previous questions. I have a couple more please...

        1) And how much do you charge to build an FB page and how much do you charge for the monthly maintenance fee?

        2) In my case, I have a personal FB profile (for family and friends only) and much later created Pages for my own websites from within my FB personal profile. Is it possible to create FB Pages without creating a personal profile first?

        Thanks again.

You have to have a personal account 1st in order to access the fan page creation section. Visitors to the fan pages though won't know about the associated personal page.

As far as charging goes, that varies on setup and options. A real basic, non graphic one page fanpage, maybe $100 and minimal hosting/maintenance. Or Graphic intense, with reveal code in place and optin forms and/or buy buttons can go for $250-$1,000.

I just added this service into my mix recently, so I am still fine tuning the sweet spot for pricing and available option.

Oh, and if the client wants to add the SSL certificate (kind of important with FB) that adds additional expense.

Ahh, I didn't know you could remove yourself if I initially created it. (Never even tried) But that is great to know.

Also, I LOVE the graphics on your pages. I have you bookmarked for future use when I land my next client.

        Just to clarify please...

Assuming at some point I let my customer be the Admin of the FB Page I created for them, they will then be able to access their page from that point forward completely independent of me and my personal FB profile?

You can create and set up fan page for your client. Then easily transfer authorization to your client and completely remove yourself fan page from your personal fb account.

    Hi,
According to my knowledge and experience, you can give access to those clients by fan page. If they join your fan page than it is easy for them that without your help they can use it anytime. It is the simplest way for mutual benefit as well.

I see that this thread had its last post about a month ago, but hopeful that someone is still paying attention. Steve - you mention that you can transfer authorization. How is this done please? And...just to make sure...let me explain my situation.

I created a fanpage for a client, with a fair amount of custom work... but associated the page with my personal profile. He wants to use the "suggest to friends" feature, but since it is associated with my personal profile he sees my friends list. I want to therefore associate his page to his personal profile. I really don't want to have to rebuild it, even thought not a huge amount of work...just some reloading of code...I'm looking for more of a 1-click solution without having to login to his personal profile and then create the page. Hope I'm making sense.
