From experience, it is easier to sell 20 copies of something at $15 each rather than 60 copies at $5 each Cheaper is not always better!

it's achievable, but will take some time to get there. Start by breaking your goals into chunks. Start with a smaller goal like $50/day. Once you achieved that, bump it up to $100. Keep moving up until you hit $300/day.

The difference between selling a $5 product and a $300 product is trust. A buyer is much more likely to throw $5 at something with less concern than they are at $300. Its up to you to build that relationship/trust with them.

Of course, one way, which is quite common is to make an initial offer of a product at $5 in the front end, and upsell a $300 product in the back end.

      This ... exactly.

People will often buy something for $5 if it looks as if they might like the product, without being too concerned about who's recommending it. For much larger amounts, they'll typically buy (something they're interested in anyway, of course) more on the basis of the relationship you've established with them, the trust they have for you, and their estimation of the reliability/strength of your recommendation with them. (Which is why it's normally so very difficult to sell many Clickbank products, for example, without building lists, trust and respect).

Online, in particular, the entire technique of promoting/selling is typically different.

But, exactly as BIG Mike says, the lower the price, the greater the market reach: this is simply the reality of the marketplace, and Wal-Mart (and all the businesses like them) are proving it - day in, day out.

Personally, I much prefer selling smaller numbers of higher-priced items, and find myself moving increasingly in that direction.

Ultimately, you have to test for yourself.

      Are you sure?

Your signature links to somewhere here, where you say you're a guru that earns 7 figures a year.

      That's a minimum of $1,000,000 a year.

      However - $500 a day x 365 = $182,500 a year.

According to that signature and the offer in it, where you offer to build WP blogs for $100 (kind of odd behaviour for a guru), you do in fact earn a very minimum of $2740 a day.

You must have missed a digit off your calculator

I think you'd have a better chance of reaching your goal by reversing your numbers.

    Instead of $5 X 60/day = $300

    Go this route:

    $60 X 5/day = $300

There are plenty of quality affiliate products that pay out $60+ per sale.

    I do over $300/day.

The best advice I can give you: instead of thinking about how many sales at what price will make you that amount, find or create a product to sell FIRST, and then figure out how much you need to sell to make that goal, and find a way to make it happen.

Hi there, I think it would be better to look for something to promote that gives you the following, an initial free product to giveaway, lifetime cookies, recurring commissions, email followups and affiliate tools. This will make it so much easier to make money that way and yes these programs are out there!

Definitely agree you're better off selling less of a higher priced item than more of a lower priced item.

I come from a sales background and it was always easier to make $2k on one sell than make $200 10 times.

      Cheers,

      James
