Can I use Post Office box at base of webpage?

My client is a therapist who sees private clients at her home. She is leery about putting that address at the base of her website. I have a faint memory that ICANN requires a physical address. Can she use a Post Office box? What alternatives does she have?

Thanks,

I would suggest that she signs up with a virtual office service and uses that as her correspondence address. Just google for "virtual office" and the city or area.

Very interesting, never heard of this before but a great idea. What if they get mail there? Is it secure and safe and gets forwarded to your address?

That's for registering a domain-name. One can do so with "privacy protection", in which case nobody else can see it.

There's no obligation to display a physical address on a website.

If using an autoresponder company (such as Aweber) to send out emails, they'll require an address to be disclosed, but that can be a P.O.Box or office services company.

ICANN requires a "postal address" which includes P.O. Boxes. Unless something has changed recently. If so a link from ICANN stating they do not allow P.O. Boxes would be appreciated. I just did a search on their site and couldn't find that's it's not allowed.

But yea back to the OP, with regards to the webpage address no worries there.

I've never used a "home" address. Never occurred to me I needed to. I have the same P.O. Box for 20 years. Even my business license is the P.O. Box.

When you hear someone telling you what YOU can't do, they are usually talking about what THEY can't do.
