Is it hard to get affiliates to market your clickbank product? How can you get in to a good spot?

Hi. I would not say hard, but there is some art involved.

To get high gravity, you need multiple individual affiliates promoting.

That means if you have a product and get 1000 sales from one affiliate, your gravity will still be 1, and have a low ranking.

    Interesting eh?

So getting up in trankings is about getting many affiliates?

I have so much to say on this...

    but let me ask you:

what methods do you currently employ for affiliate recruitment?

One way to get masses of affiliates is harvesting the email addresses of website owners.

Like the owners of product review sites and such.

Then you can send them a form email.

I built a software for exactly this purpose, which I may well release free as my next WSO.

It depends who you are, what your track-record is as a vendor, what the product and its sales page are like, what lists you have, what joint ventures/promotions you can do and what other ways you can find to promote your product to affiliates.

You may get some, just by having it listed in Clickbank's Marketplace, but perhaps not many.

The biggest single determinant of whether serious affiliates will be interested is certainly the quality of the sales page (with the quality of the product itself close behind).

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "a good spot".

It seems to me that the most important thing to be aware of is that there are, broadly speaking, two entirely different "groups of potential affiliates" available to Clickbank vendors. In round numbers, 90% of the affiliates make 10% of the affiliate-reffered sales, but the other 10% of affiliates typically produce 90% of the sales. This, of course, is the group which you want to try to attract.

I strongly suspect that the principle mistake many vendors make is that they try to attract simply "as many people as possible" with very little understanding of the distinctions between the two groups and what each is looking for (some of those things directly conflict).

If it's of any help/interest, the criteria I look for myself, as a potential affiliate, are set out in this post.

It wouldn't do you any harm to have a link to your affiliate-page, or to a page giving information about the product, listed in your signature-file here.

    Good luck!

Its also terribly important that you ensure your affiliates' and jv partners' win is as big as possible.

Many affiliates look for back end sales from 3-4 up and downsells, which amount to :

      "Total comission of 400$"

Im sure you have seen this on some jv pages.

The thing is, if you're a new vendor, this is not necessarily achievable, due to certain volume requirements you must meet before being approved for such a setup.

There is a way around this.

Move to different vendors with affiliate programs, but less stringent limitations than Clickbank.

      Such as plimus.com.

Many vendors have moved to plimus for that very reason.

That said, many affiliates are now more comfortable with the idea of using plimus now, than then.
