Article Keywords...Competing with Yourself?

When article marketing, after you've written an article that seems to be doing well in terms of traffic, do you write any more articles using the same keyword focus?

Would this not be kinda competing with the one that is trying to do well?

How can you continue to write articles with the same keyword or phrase without sabotaging your others?

    It really depends....

Did the article you write put you on the first page of Google? If not, why not give it another shot?

If you did get to the first page or get good results and are getting traffic from that keyword, move on to the next one.

Sometimes though, instead of beating a keyword to death you can do some linking to your article to raise your rankings enough to get where you want to be.

The choice of keyword is very necessary to be good because keywords are the driving force behind the search engine optimization. The exact number of people who visit your web and its ranking depends upon keywords. So, choose the right option.

Imagine for a moment that you write two articles on a single keyword phrase.

Now imagine that you put each article on different sites. One on Squidoo and one on Ezine Articles.

Assuming Google likes them both well enough to put them on page one for that phrase, you would then have 20% dominance of that first page.

Instead of sabotaging your efforts, producing several articles on one keyword phrase should boost your results. How would you like to control 80% or even 100% of Google's first page? Do you think that would help you?

Very well put! Totally agree. Like Steven was saying too is that Tony is looking at this cockeyed. This would help him get more traffic for sure. If he owned the #1, #2 and #3 spot on the first page of Google for that particular keyword he would gain a ton of traffic.

      Micheal very well said!

Tony, you're looking at this all cockeyed.

I have one niche (no, not telling ) where for 1 keyword phrase I have the
      top 5 positions at Google.

If you can dominate a whole first page (tough to do) can you imagine how
      much traffic you'll get?

      Keep writing.

I used to feel the same way, that it didn't make sense to use the same keyword more than once. But I learned my lesson. Now I focus on one keyword for a few articles at a time. For one of my niches, I have three separate articles on the first page of Google.

Use some of the Web 2.0 properties and dominate that front page of google.

Try and use a different headline each time but use the same keywords.

Recieved this email that may help ->
    -----------------------------------------------------------------

If you know about article marketing, you should be familiar with
    web 2.0.

What is web 2.0? Blogger, Wordpress, Squidoo, Hubpages, Weebly,
Social bookmarking websites, and much more are all web 2.0 sites.
The coolest thing about all of these sites though, is the fact that
they are all completely free to use!

Here's why you should use them:

    - You have the ability to rank high on search engines like Google. How?
Most of these sites have thousands and thousands of pages and
backlinks. Google LOVES sites like these. And the higher the ranking,
the better the chance for you to rank high for your keywords, bringing
in tons of free, organic search engine traffic!

    - They are FREE!

    - Unlimited use. You can create profitable sites and pages over and
    over and over.

So, think about it: You find a product to promote (such as a product
at ClickBank), do some keyword research, find a product, and place
some articles on one or all of the sites above.

Do some social boomarking to get your site indexed quick, and
check your rankings for your keywords the next day. Depending on
the amount of competition listed, your page could be ranked fairly high,
which could bring in some nice commissions

I'm not going to dive into it completely, but I think you get the idea, as
well as see the opportunity that lies within.

So, if you don't have an account at any of these sites, you should get
one right away and start taking advantage of these now!

I wish you nothing but the best!

Web 2.0 Domination is the way forward for article marketers...

You can use the same content and it will be ranked..

    Test it and try it..

Get your article ranked on EA and leave it a week and
hit one of the Web 2.0 Properties. Social Bookmark. Submit RSS, etc
and you'll get another position for almost no extra effort..

This is going to be my big push in 2009......!!! (Watch this space)

I know what you mean. When writing articles that touch on similar subject matter I have often ended up choosing the same or at least very similar keywords. I'm sure that Google's search function/algorithm is wise to this. However, rather than selecting totally random keywords I stick to what makes sense even if it means some redundance. By constantly updating my blog and submitting articles to around 15 article directories I hope that at any one time more than a handful of my articles are published and searchable. A steady stream of traffic to my web site is the ultimate goal and as long as my articles as well as my efforts in forums, classified ad sites, and social networks are consistent, I should generate enough hits using a variety of strategies. Best, G.
