Torn about the best approach

Hi Guys

It has been a while since I've been here because I have been feverishly developing a new online system for my business. But before I get into that I just want to wish you all a very merry chrismas and a happy and prosperous new year.

Now onto my system, I am having some real difficulty deciding the best approach for some things... I think the best way to do this is tell you all about what I'm trying to achieve and where I'm at... so here goes...

I am trying to create a free online business sytem for those who partner with the Network Marketing company I am partnered with. (essentially anyone in my "downline")

I want it to have a squeeze page to start, with just name and e-mail being aquired. Those people will receive a newsletter that I am creating about generic home business stuff, obviously encouraging them to return to the site and request an appointment.

Which will be the second page. A mid-long form sales letter with one objective... To get their full details (name, e-mail, phone, best time to call, state, etc).

I will have a members area with all of the training, etc.

My dillema is this. I want the contact to be associated with the team member that refferred them. So if they request an appointment, their details will be passed on to whomever referred them to my site. I also want to set up a series of autoresponder messages that will relate to the prospects status. (Not contacted, appointment set, no show, etc) that each member can modify to suit their working hours, etc.

Naturally I want this to be as automated as possible for everyone involved.

Now for the question that I need your advice on...

I have worked out a way using 1shopping cart whereby I can track the lead and who it came from, it is not impressive by any means and is very labour intensive. But it is a solution that will work. (barely)

I have read a lot of info here about self-hosted autoresponders and was considdering that as an option to help with the automation side of things, only I cannot code at that level personally (or I probably could but it would take years.) and every coder that I have employed has not progressed anything.

Do you guys reccomend that I keep persuing a coder that can do the job properly, or stick with the barely working solution that I have? Or alternately do any of you know of a plug and play solution to all of this. Bearing in mind that I do not have any requirement to take any money from these people.

Your advice is appreciated

Dave
