This may be discussed a lot over here, but i would like to hear from real time experienced warriors

In terms of SEO
which is easy to rank exactkeyword . com or exactkeyword . co
I have found a good niche and only exactkeyword . co is available.
Not sure if i will have to work harder to get it ranked compared to .c o m

Secondly i also found another keyword were exactkeyword. co.uk and exactkeyword .co is available , which one would you take and why.

appreciate your comments !
Thank you !

I've read here recently that .co has somehow been "upgraded" now, from being the domain extension for Colombia to being a top-level domain, like .com, .org, .net and others. It's not relevant to me, personally, so I haven't verified this information anywhere, but if it's true, then the answer, happily, would be "no": it'll be all the same, for SEO purposes.

I would take the .co in preference to the .co.uk (and I say that as a UK-resident, myself), without a shadow of a doubt. My feeling is that ".co.uk" doesn't go down so well, overall, with American customers. The .co.uk domain might be a little easier to rank on UK Google, but that'll be its only advantage, I'd think: all the rest is downside, really. UK residents will have no problem with a .com or a .co.

As far as SEO goes, I don't think it really matters.

.co is being promoted as a generic domain, even though it is for Colombia. On that point, I would go for .co over .co.uk, unless you are targeting the British market. I think when people see .co.uk, they will assume a UK business. When they see a .co, they probably don't think a Colombian business.

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.
