Question For CLICKBANK Experts

Hello,

I wonder if someone can help me out with a problem I am having.

I have a product on Clickbank that someone just purchased from me.

Yet before he paid me he accidently clicked on a Clickbank's affiliate link
which is located inside an affiliates page of one of my sites which is under construction.

In a nutshell, he paid me $100, and I actually got 50% from it because he made the payment after clicking an affiliate link of a nickname which I didn't register on Clickbank yet.

The nickname in this affiliate link is just a nickname that I have invented, and planned to create from it a clickbank account later on.

So, my question is where is the other 50% went to?

When I try to register a new clickbank account under the "invented" name, the system tells me that the username is already taken.

And when I google the "invented" name, it doesn't seem to find any Clickbank seller who is using such a nickname.

Has the money just vanished in cyberspace.

Any ideas what I can do?

Thanks,

Amir

I would imagine the money just goes to clickbank itself.

    Quoted from Clickbank website:

Q: I misspelled my ClickBank nickname in my HopLink and I know I've made sales! Can I get that money?

A: Possibly. If the misspelled nickname you used belongs to another ClickBank user, we cannot transfer that money to your account. However, if the misspelled nickname does not belong to anyone else, you can contact customer service for access to that account. All sales made using that nickname will be listed in the account's sales reporting, even though the account did not exist when the sales were made. However, we cannot transfer money from that account to your main account.

      Hi,

Thanks everyone for the quick answers.

@ciel - I found a related answer on the link you sent me (so I will just contact clickbank, and will see how it goes - thanks):

Honestly, if the person who purchased the item somehow discovered your "invented" nickname...maybe they registered it before they purchased your product.

The first thing I would do, is finish determining what "Clickbank" name you want, create it, and be sure to delete the other one from any pages you were working on.

As far as the 50% gone missing, really don't have a solution other than contact Clickbank, and see if you can identify who's using that name. If it happens to be the person you sold the product too, you'll probably never see the money, but it might give you some closure!

I wish I was the one that snatched up "clickbankid" or "yourclickbankid". That person is probably making a mint.

Hahaha oh man, they must be very pleased with that. I'd imagine it'd be enough to really take it easy!
