Can Someone Explain The Process Of Uploading A Website And Ebook To My Hosting Account??

Hey guys,

I am branching into something out of my comfort zone here but i think it will have great results. Basically i want to upload a sales page and an e-book to my hosting account but i have no idea how to do this. I am guessing i have to use a FTP Client. Could some one who is experienced with this please explain in good detail how to go about this. Cheers

my advice honestly is to pick up a real hosting package - someone like hostgator is cheap and offer reasonably good service. you'll get free auto install scripts with most packages for common cms systems etc and a web based file manager in cpanel etc.

if i was selling something i'd be sure to tell you about it here. but since i'm not selling something click here to become a millionaire.

Yeah sweet, think i am getting it now. Do i have to create a separate page to put the download link for the pdf on?

if you're selling the book, then it makes sense to make a different route to get the book after payment has been made. otherwise you can put it on the same page if you want.
what exactly do you want to do? is it an opt-in page?

No opt-in, just basic sales page, with a link to buy and then deliver the product somehow.

well in that case, the easiest way for you would be to make the page (main sales page) then another page to download the ebook book. then in paypal, create a buy buttong and redirect it to the ebook download page after payment. so when making the buy button, you put the ebook page link in the section in paypal buy button creating where it sale something like "thank you page" or link to show to the person after click buy. if i make any sense at all.

    Hello Vickybabe,

Congrats on having the courage to dive in and say "Full Speed Ahead!"

First, get a domain name, I just used coupon code SOCCER99 at godaddy last week and got a .com for 99 cents. Not sure if it still works, but there are more codes out there and maybe here on this forum, although I have not looked.

Second, get your own hosting account. Host Gator small pkg. is only 4 bucks a month and they have great customer support! Then you are ready. And of course an auto responder acct. is preferable.

You will need 2 pages, a sales page and a download page.

Youtube is a great resource for finding step by step videos to do almost anything you need to set up and run a website. And of course, you can always inquire here at the Warrior Forum. There are MANY knowledgeable and helpful people that will steer you in the right direction.

The most important step, you have already taken, you decided and TOOK ACTION.....

    Good Luck on your site!

Some free hosting accounts will not allow you to upload files at all - just text pages and perhaps some small images, but large files such as an ebook may be rejected.

Check the terms of the hosting package before you attempt to upload.

It took me a while to figure out that with FTP software... you need to double-click to navigate through folders.....back in my newbie days

Well I taught Myself most of the things I know...
