Which is better, pay annually, semi-annually, or monthly?

Hi warriors,

I am newbie in IM and want to start this business. I have some money for my capital. I plan to order hosting, domain, autoresponder, and some services. The choice are paying those services monthly, semi-annually, or monthly.

I consider that paying annually is cheaper than paying monthly. What do you suggest to me to paying those services, monthly, semi-annually, or annually?

Thanks

      Totally agree.

If you are happy with a service and you definately know you are going to need it long term, get the cheapest monthly rate you can (when calculated). For me this would be hosting, domains and autoresponder.

Some SEO software might be cheaper to get a years membership but you just don't know how long you are going to use it for. It's effectiveness might reduce in 6 months and you still have 6 months paid. So for those things I would pay monthly.

It depends on what the other services you mention are but I think the point is clear.

      Hope this helps

I pay for everything annually and always haggle for a discount

I actually pay for my hosting 18 months at a time :-)

Makes it easy for my accountant :-)

  • Thanks all for the reply. I can make a conclusion from the posts. We better pay for autoresponder, domain, and hosting annually because we need them for long term. And for some services that only need short term we better pay monthly.

It also depends from how far we trust on the services.

It depends on your cash flow. If you are starting out in IM you will soon become aware that you will have to use other tools and services for your business. These tools can be for competitor research, site tracking and analysis and services to outsource article writing, press releases, design for yout tube, facebook and many more areas.

I recommend you pay month by month and then after 6 months you will have all your tools in place and know what your true costs are. Then go ahead and purchase 12 months in advance.

      Cheers

Thanks Arturo for your suggestion. I agree with your advice. For beginning, I will pay for my IM needs monthly and then after my business will have been making money I'll pay for them annually.

Paying annually get that item off your monthly bills. But if you barely have enough money to get started, or not quite sure, I will suggest you go for monthly, but annually comes with a lot of discounts.

If you are just starting out, I suggest you go with monthly. If I learn anything from starting new IM projects is that, things rarely go 100% as initially planned. The odds are, over the course of the year things like giving up on a domain, find another autoresponder that suits you better, dissatisfied with your hosting company etc... are very likely to happen. So, you shouldn't force yourself to be stuck with anything for a whole year just yet.

Yeah, I also consider a lot of discounts if I pay annually. But, I also need some services to boost my IM business. Thank you

Dont fall into the trap of purchasing hosting for a full year based simply on price.

You need to know that they have proper and prompt support when you need them.

Test this out before you even buy something.

I suggest monthly to start with as you are making a new site, so it may not have much content yet.

If you needed to change hosting companies for any reason, then you would only have a few pages & files to move to new host.

If you have the extra funds I would pay annually for a discount but if you are new and trying out the services then I would start off by paying monthly. So it really depends.

I would definitely recommend for you to pay annually because that is how you are going to get a biggest discount.

Plus you won't have to worry about making payments month to month. By paying annually you will get rid of that headache
