[Geek Corner] Outlook Express Email Recovery Question

I had XP Pro (2004 build) for many years and I loved using it.

Sadly, for some reason the computer fouled up and I had to get it replaced.

I now have a Win 7 Home Edition system.

In Outlook Express on Win XP I changed the email location to my partitioned drive D.

All these emails have a .dbx file extension.

What I am wanting to know is....

Does anyone have a way to be able to recover these types of .dbx files to be readable?

I went to Microsoft's site (yeah, not a damn thing helpful there).

Thanks.

Jason

I upgraded to a Win 7 computer from XP last year, and since OE no longer runs on Win 7, I installed Thunderbird and imported all my old IE mail folders. The process is fairly straightforward, though I am not all that impressed with Thunderbird.

Alternatively, if you buy the upgrade to Win 7 Professional, you can get a free XP mode that runs inside Win 7, and run OE inside that.

As far as am concerned I think you should try Recovery Tool which has it all in it as per the probable scenarios required in the direction to Import emails from outlook express to outlook and even in other file formats also like EML, MSG, RTF etc. If somehow the DBX file would be damaged it’ll repair the same as well too.

See how it works for you try :- http://www.pcrecoverytools.com/outlo...-recovery.html
