3 Domains - Any advice?

So I have three basically un-used domain names, and was wondering if anyone could offer some advice on what to do with them?

Just speaking in a general term, as I'd rather share the actual domains via PM, and not make them publicly posted on here for the moment.

I have some experience here and there, but nothing that is really any great success. Possibly still have a-lot more to learn. Have read plenty of post here and enjoy the information you share.

You can sell them on sites like sedo, flippa, digital point or even in this forum.Or you can develop a website and start a business from them.

I have tried selling them with Sedo before, and parking them. But with very little results. The only name I think would have any luck in selling would be my game related domain name. Heck it's even a .info

Could it be that the domain names you have are not as valuable as you think?

I think I am going to spend a little time today uploading WP for one of my domains and working on the theme of it some. Put up some content and head on a search for "related" forums I can join which might hopefully help gain traffic.

I hear a-lot of people talking about "Writing Articles" for other sites to gain yourself more exposure. Does this work with sites like Triond? I know I've heard lately Triond is going to be considered as a "link farm" according to google, so links from here may end up hurting you more?

I would advise against getting bogged down in the brain fart that is "I must do something with every domain"....

I purchased over 50 domains when I first started, I installed WordPress on every one of them, tried to add some content to everyone, and what I ended up with was 40 odd unsuccessful websites that never got any traffic, but those 40 odd did probably take 120 or more hours of my life....

So the lesson, don't waste time.

Its better to pick one solid website and niche, and write 100 pages of content. I would perform SEO activities intermittently. Once you reach the 100 pages of content mark, that are monetized and optimized for money-keywords, I would focus on SEO. Then rinse and repeat for a new site, all the while maintaining SEO, and releasing at least 2 new articles on that site a month.

      Goodluck,

I agree with Michael on this one.

If your domain name is not an exact match for the keyword you are targeting then I would not run around trying to do much with it.

Any domains I have that I just don't have time to do much with I use as test sites for themes, plugins, etc - that way I can safely check stuff out on a live site without stressing over crashing it

Instead of letting your domains lie idle why not get some quality content on them. One of the free and handsfree way of doing that is registering for the free service at UniqueArticleWizard.

You will find a button link at the bottom of the homepage mentioned --- "Get Free Unique Content".

    All the best

If any of them are at all promising in that they are in niches with keywords that are searched for and you can monetize it, build a blog and get some traffic and possibly sales or Adsense and then flip them.

Thank you both for the advice. I will take it into the thought process.

The one domain I am working on currently too me, has more potential then the others I have. It's in the 'Online Gaming' niche, or I am trying to target that niche

As for the next one. I am currently using LinkShare, and Peerfly in attempts to monetize it. Might add a few offers from CJ later. Well the gamefly offer from CJ. Might also add smowtion back to the site, seeing as smowtion does add to the overall income from this site.

You must have had some ideas for those domain names at the time you bought them so explore exactly why you bought them and see if you'd be willing to work on those ideas.

If you're not going to sell them right away, you might as well just slap wordpress on all of them with one page of information. I know Michael said it was a waste, but eventually, you would be selling websites with actual age to them.

I had one of my bogus one page sites reach PR1 and I never did a thing with it, but I sold it for pretty good money!

Thank you for that share. On the ones I decide to keep and not do much with. I would still like to provide a few pages of content on them. Even if most of it is a form of trying to push a lead .

Cool beans today! I been a member of Bidvertiser for a while, and ain't done much with it. Maybe earned $0.38 from click. Got a conversion point the other day, it shows revenue of $2.86. Might add them back to more sites

You have three unused domain names? How did you get them? Did you buy them or were they offered as a bonus?

How you got them doesn't really matter all that much, but if you bought them you must have had some sort of plan to use them, even if it did work out as planned.

If you have domains I'm going to presume you have a hosting account?

One thing you could do, especially with the gaming type domain, is build a blog around it.

If you don't like to write all that much head over to Clickbank and get Anik Singal's Profit Jackpot, I bought the full package last month and am doing pretty well with it.

As stated by many of the other Warriors, focus on one Niche for one domain. Develop that as much as you can then think about expanding.

I sometimes find that selling domains is quite stressful. You have to advertise, wait and wait more until someone is interested. They ask you questions and then you never hear from them.

It's better to use them on wordpress blogs and ezine articles. Outsource the writing part and use the domain to direct to your site.

You have to weigh up the pros and cons.

Are these keyword optimized domain names? There are lots of people on digitalpoint, flippa etc. searching for domain names to promote their businesses. You could also build sites on them and sell them at higher valued prices.

Well I am not sure 100% if they are. Three main ones... one being "Le Nobel"... second being "Book En Espanol" and lastly a long one... "Where can I get free music" lol.

Just my 2 cents. I purchased many domains when I first started in listening to all of the guru's out there. Bad advice. If your domains are not within your business model then either let them expire, or try to sell them. Don't know if I'd even waste the time there, what you you looking at $30? If your main focus is auto blogging and want to monetize with adsense, then sure get them up, put in some content, try in make some money on them over the course of the next 3 months, and then flip them. If your main focus is selling affiliate products and those domains are not keyword specific, and/or there is too much competition..let them expire and move on to greener pastures. Your time is more valuable than worrying about 3 domains that cost you $30. Pick out a good niche within your business model and concentrate on that.

        Hope this helps..Valerie

Yes I could, but still even if I only sold them cheap to someone, then I could have a little money to advertise my personal site, and maybe buy some quality backlinks.

I don't think they would get much type in traffic. More lucky to be found while doing a keyword search on the search engines, and don't parking a domain, not help it at all raise in PR or in overall rankings?
