Running SENukeX on Windows7 via VMWareFusion on a 2011 MacBook Pro

Right off the bat I want to apologize for the title of this thread if it causes any confusion, but this is my first WF post after lurking for close to three years! I tried to reply to posts in the past but got the message about having 20 posts first. So this post also serves to accomplish some of that too.

So, is anyone running the same configuration as I am (described in title) or similar? If so, I'd like to know what your thoughts are on it and whether or not moving to a VPN is worth it. I MUST have a Mac due to several programs I use for graphic design/web graphics and other editing (music, video, etc), but I also MUST run PC-only automation tools like SENukeX, NicheFinder, TBS, etc. To me the best solution at the time was to purchase Windows7 and VMWareFusion and run my PC apps natively on my mac. RAM is not a problem at all, and in terms of speed my PC programs work effortlessly.

But recently my client load has increased and I'm running about 80-100 campaigns per month through SENukeX. Would anyone recommend that I move to a VPN soon? My concern is the downtime when I throw my mac in my backpack and travel to meet with someone. When it's sleeping or not connected to WiFi my tasks are obviously not being processed, and when I wake it has tons of tasks stacked up.

Looks like you answered your own question.

That's exactly what I'm considering. With proxies, I'm looking at about $75/mo. I'm basically sold on it, just looking for input. In terms of a Windows VPN and proxies, are there any that you would recommend?

    Hi Mate,

I am running Win Server, SeNukeX on a VPS server with HideMyAss.

    I just followed these instructions
    SEnuke X Server Setup Guide

I used the same hosting he has suggested and
    Its been smooth sailing since.

I do the bulk of the work on that server, also If you want
to do more, you can get another server or just do some
additional campaigns with your laptop while you sleep.

Remember, you can use SeNukeX on up to 3 computers
at the same time all on the 1 license.

    Hope that helps?

    Take Care,

    Michael Silvester

Yes, that helps. I found that same lens and bookmarked it a while back but never took action. So you use HidemyAss proxies? Interesting. I've seen those too but never heard any feedback on them, so thanks!

Question, I know about the 3 computer install license, but can several people access your VPS at the same time from different locations? Ideally I would like to have dropbox on mine and some of my copywriters machines and use the VPS as a shared folder destination. I'd like to have my reports person log in to the VPS, access SENukeX and pull the URL reports to build individual client work reports (clients love those). Would this be possible?
