What is rss? LoL, I've seen this and many other rss questions repeatedly asked.

Could this be the problem? This is what I get when searching the forum for RSS

The following errors occurred with your search:
  1. Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms. The following words are either very common, too long, or too short and were not included in your search : rss

newbs are told to search before asking questions, yet there is no result for rss on any newb question. that's all.

So it doesn't bring up RSS, what's the big deal?

I'm most certain doing a search in the forum isn't going to bring up every term you are serching for.

    As someone suggested, GOOGLE it!

Hey, it's Christmas Eve!! Why is everyone so grouchy??? I believe the OP was just sharing some trivia, the fact that RSS doesn't come up in the search results and maybe that's why so many "What is RSS?" threads are started.

Sheesh! Come on people. Lighten up!

    Merry Christmas!

I get the point since I have many times seen people's questions answered by telling them to search the forum.

But the rest of the thread did "remind" me that you can even use Google to search just this site and get better results than the forum search feature.

I have searched for rss information in the past on this forum and always come up with what I am looking for. I think rss is too general.

Try rss feeds or rss software or whatever specific keywords your looking for and you will come up with something. Or try: keyword site:warriorforum.com in Google.

Actually I was looking for rss software and by doing a search I came upon BIg Mikes WSO for RSSBot. Bought it right away.

If you want to find pertinent information on the internet you must first know how to search for it. Isn't that what a reporter's job is about?

  • There is actually have a good point in here. Even if you search for RSS feed, the warrior forum search filters out the RSS because it's too short of a word, and it only searches for "feed." To get the proper results for that, you have to put the term in quotations - "rss feed" - then you'll find good info.

There is probably a way to add RSS as an exception to the too-short search function that would allow it to show up. Then again... Google.

The reason this forum won't search for "RSS", is because "RSS" is a three letter word, and this forum requires searches to be performed only on words of 4+ letters.

This makes the forum search function much more server resource friendly...
