Yet another traffic question - Amazon review site queries?e how to you promote it?

Hello!

Following a warrior advice I am now in the process of building a large Amazon review site. It is not a niche site but instead contains a variety of products.

I would like to know how to bring traffic to this site? (it has a multitude of keywords as it has different type of products).

I also have the following questions:

- Should I put the products in categories?
- How many products do you recommend I add daily (without being slapped by Google). Currently I am adding x2 per day.
- I will also shortly do a couple of niche sites (following warrior's advice of not putting all eggs in one basket). Should i hyperlink the niches sites to point also to my large review site?

Thanks for your replies

    This is a must..

As long as you provide quality unique reviews, google will love you

This is a great strategy for driving traffic and backlinking..

As for the traffic question, well you could SEO each post and target first page of google for each keyword. a lot of work here but it works..

    Cheers,

      Hello Gary!

      Thanks for your detailed answer.

Could you be more specific on the question of the SEO? Do you recommend writing an article for each post/item. Unfortunately I haven't had much luck with article writing (especially Ezine). What other methods do you suggest?

      Thanks

It is going to be absolutely impossible to review products that I have actually used! (particularly financially)

My site eventually will have hundreds of products in different categories with different prices ranging from a few dollars to hundred of dollars! I really don't know how this can be feasible?

I am sorry about my ignorance but do you mean setting up squidoo pages, hub pages, diggs, etc.?

I wouldn't know how to use Article wizzard to promote the webs.2.0 (It has a price tag of $77?)

I remember researching one Amazon product not long ago. The site that listed as #1 in Google for the highly competitive 2-word keyword had 35 backlinks from nothing but Squidoo lenses. No other backlinks at all. It was beating out competition with PR5, PR6 and PR7 backlinks.

It also had excellent on-page SEO.

In the end I didn't pursue selling that product, but it illustrated the continuing power of Squidoo when I had thought it was on the decline.

It is very possible those squidoo reviews had a lot of backlinks and were only used as a buffer for the link juice.

You should develop some sort of content around those products. This is being mentioned in this thread with articles and quality reviews, but it can really be anything that you are comfortable developing. For example it could be simple videos that review the products or show them in action. Or maybe you have a blog where you write ongoing articles about the products, or a podcast. It may be trite, but content is king. If you develop ongoing content you will be rewarded with traffic.

Just something to consider... Why are you set on building a huge site with no particular focus? That sounds dangerously close to what Google is targeting/penalizing right now ("content farms"). Not saying it's wrong, or that it doesn't work, but right now it doesn't seem like the safest route to go.
