Marketing Genius
to be around 63. (I may have to shut off my fan.) Things were going so
well I finished my shopping, fixed lunch and got my mail. Years ago when
I joined AARP I "coded" my membership with a different middle initial so
I could track how many times they sold my name and to whom. There it
was, addressed to Thomas "A", ( not my middle initial.) a very nicely
done solicitation to join the "NEPTUNE SOCIETY". For those who don't
know what that is or are too young to care its an ad for prepaid cremation.
They also promised to scatter your ashes out in the Gulf of
Mexico. The day before Christmas no less. I've been laughing about it all day.
I hope the rocket scientist in charge of their mass mailings
doesn't quit his/her job at Burger King 'cause they're never gonna make it
as a marketing directer,
On a more serious note (but not much) every year I go through
a whole big ritual in picking out my Christmas present. Not having any
family I have to get my own stuff or not get anything. I usually get
sox, underware and a couple of new shirts to start then buy my self
something really special to enjoy in the coming year. Last years gift,
a 5 DVD set (collectors edition) of "Girls Gone Wild" has been a real
hit. It was hard to top that this year but I believe I have. This year I
joined the War Room Forum. Been gonna do it for a few weeks now, just
hadn't gotten around to doing the deed. Merry Christmas Thomas, and
a Happy New Year.
I know this is long but I've been here a year and this is the first
thread I've ever started. For those of you who couldn't be here in
Florida this year I'm (trying) to attach a picture of the sunsert at Madeira
Beach this evening. I took it just a couple of hours ago so its still warm.
Merry Christmas Warriors. Tom
