Facebook Users - TOS For Fan Pages Needed ASAP!

6 replies
Warriors,

I would love to hear from you on some stern warnings, about cursing, slandering other members, spamming, etc, etc for our faceBook Fan Pages. If you have either seen some great ones on other pages that covers alot of stuff or DO NOT MIND writing some here as a "Copy & Paste" for myself and others to use, this would sure help a lot! I would like to really step up my moderation, delete or/and ban my fans after 1 warning and make sure they adhere to these rules. At least they will have been warned before they get WACKED!

Thanks for your understanding!

Cheers,

Warrior2008

    Did you see my post in the other thread about the name of your fanpage? Your fanpage name is far too general and it will eventually get turned into a community page where you will lose admin rights for the page. I wouldn't waste too much more time or money on this page. You really need to start again if you plan on building up a big fan base.

      I will take note. Yes, this Fan page was just a test page for ads. I did not know though that FB could do that.

      So let's get this straight. I pay this young kid (CEO of FB) my hard earned money for FB Ads, he then can take my money and one day take my page? Is that correct? He should have to award monies for that or really stress this for all advertisers. If you or I did that we would be in "BIG" trouble for sure with AG's Office, BBB, Feds, Etc. Amazing what money can do when you can double or triple up on lawyers.

        Actually, it's in the TOS for pages.

        https://www.facebook.com/terms_pages.php

        1. Any user may create a Page; however, only an authorized representative of the subject matter may administer the Page. Pages with names consisting solely of generic or descriptive terms will have their administrative rights removed.
        Twice actually.

        10. Page names must:

        a. not consist solely of a generic or descriptive term (e.g. "beer" or "pizza");

        b. use proper, grammatically correct capitalization and may not include excessive capitalization or use all capitals;

        c. not include character symbols, including but not limited to excessive punctuation and trademark designations; and

        d. not include taglines, superfluous descriptions, or unnecessary qualifiers. Campaign names and/or regional or demographic qualifiers are acceptable.

        I'm still not clrear on the interpretation of FB terms and conditions for pages.

        Am I breaking ANY rules if I do the following:

        1) grab a vanity url on facebook that will look like:

        www.facebook.com/HamiltonCoupons

        2) build a page and name it Hamilton Coupons
        or should I name it Hamilton Coupons.com ????
        so that, FB can not accuse me of using "generic" terms

        3) build a website, www.HamiltonCoupons.com

        Would the above work for me or will I lose my page ?
