How Many Emails is TOO many?

Hey warriors,

I've got a video opt in page that I'm currently having a lot of success with. I'm wondering though, how quickly can you send emails without annoying your customer?

I'm currently on a list for a popular seduction product and I"m emailed nearly every day by that person, so I duplicated this with my campaign.

I email quality content with a call to action every day...do you think this is too much and will annoy customers? Or do you think as long as i keep it quality, they should be glad I'm sending them so much great info?

Thanks for your replies warriors!

Personally if I was receiving an email everyday I'd unsubscribe.

I personally would tone it down to 2 or 3 a week maximum. However, do some testing. Track your open rate and how many people are unsubscribing. As long as you are offering massive value, it might not be a problem.

Don't pay attention to what anyone says on this- pay attention to what your subscribers do. If you send daily emails and have a low unsubscribe rate, that means most of the people aren't upset about daily emails.

I could name several marketers in various niches who send daily (sometimes twice daily), and their subscribers can't wait to hear from them.

My biggest concern about sending daily emails would be running out of content or getting tired of broadcasting that much... if you do it, I'd suggest not saying anything like "tip of the day" or "daily message" in case you decide to slow down the frequency.

Thanks for the replies all, its all good information.

Chris I particularly like what you're saying because this was a concern of mine. Do i really want to make sure a person who's 15 or 20 messages deep in my campaign is STILL getting a daily email?

I mean I'm trying to sell my ebook, so if they havent been convinced to buy by then, they are probably a moocher for life, right?

But yea, I'm seeing nobody unsubscribe so far except for a few who did right after receiving thier opt in incentive...so I guess I'll just keep testing and throw a few emails on the end of the campaign with larger intervals to try to snag people who realize they miss me once I'm gone haha.

Thanks again all for the input!

Yeah I completely agree with what Chris stated.

Look at the facts and numbers and let them decide your process.

Noah, I didn't catch that these were a followup series. I thought you were talking about how often to broadcast.

For followups, my scheduling would depend on how many messages I have in the series. I usually schedule them about every 3 days, not because I think daily is too often, but because I don't want to run out in a week or so. I'd want the series to run a month or so, to cover cases like where people are waiting for the end of the month to get paid to be able to buy something, etc. It's silly with credit cards, but some people still seem to wait for pay day to buy things online.

hrmm thats a valid point too. I'm at 12 quality follow ups, i'll probably just finish out at 15 and set it at a 2 day interval to make it reach a month, and then throw a few reminder ones at the end on even larger intervals and see how that all works for me.

      Thanks again chris.
